FL doesn't look fancy at all. It looks almost as bad as Cubase and Reason. Logic and Ableton are the ones that look fancy. And I don't know of many people who use FL, other than tutorial-maker people and beginners. Seems like most people use Ableton.
But Logic has definitely been the most attractive DAW, IMO.

I have worked with Cubase, Logic, and FL. Each has their nice niches to them.
Cubase is like the one-size-fits-all DAW imho. It has a mixer setup similar to Logic, the playlist is comfortable to work in, automation is easy enough to use, and the default sounds are pretty good.
Logic has been rough to use for me. This might be because I'm not used to using Macs, but I keep hitting walls trying to wrestle with the program to do tasks that are generally pretty simple in other DAWS (at least the two/three others I've worked with). The mixer is really awesome though, very similar to Pro Tools if anybody has used that. The signal processing is very nice. However, the default samples range from god-like (i.e. choir, piano) to just god-awful (any of the strings). The synthesizers are really solid too, but my biggest gripe is the playlist and piano roll. It has been way to much trouble messing with it to be smooth for me.
FL has a cleaner setup than you give it credit I think. The simple drag-and-drop layout and default synths are a good springboard for learning all the other DAWS out there. I use it because it's a bit less fussy to use, and sampling is super easy. The playlist editor is the best I've used so far. Mixer has it's perks, but there are better alternatives. If you're looking for people who use FL, I know zircon and General Mumble use it 100%. Most others around these forums use it as well I believe for various reasons.
I've been looking to try out Ableton Live since I have quite a few friends who have taken a liking to it. All in all, I'd recommend most people to try out AT LEAST two or more DAWs to get a feel for what others have to offer. You might be impressed with what you find. If I remember correctly, deadmau5 uses multiple DAWs (Ableton mostly, but I know he uses FL as well for whatever other reasons) if that accounts for anything. It all comes down to what you're comfortable with. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter what program you used, it's the quality of the product you make.
Also, I will probably make something for this
