Official Discussion Thread (Ghost Edit)

Sports, politics, movies, videogames, questionable hobbies, photos from your family vacation, etc. Talk about stuff that isn't ponies or music. But do try to stay on topic and respectful of alternate opinions.

so.... I'm going to be buying car insurance by myself for the first time. Which is a punishment my mom decided to give me because of conflict which was started by not buying food at mcdonalds.
And then I have to get my car title from the DMV in my name before Friday otherwise my parents will take the car and say that it is their car. (which apparently they can do that. idk how since its in my name and I will not sign it over to them.)
And I have to take care of school because the stress is getting to me.
and I have to take care of getting a phone because I dont have one.
and I have to do something about academy of power since I would REALLY like to submit this year
and I need to do something about my bank account because its a kid account and I need an adult account
and I need to finish a large paper by tomorrow on a book I never read
and I have to decide whether or not to get my mom something for her birthday since she treats me like crap (sept. 23)
and I need to save up some more money for expenses like car and phone
and I need a weekend job badly
and I am going to have an operation done on me
which puts me out of being able to do anything for quite some time
stupid hernia
and my parents think I loaned a friend a lot of money but really i purchased a playstation
stupid kid account with bank

im so negative ;_;

You wouldn't really get it anyway, since you most likely have never been at KTH. I'll write a short explenation anyhow.

eery got the translation right
Translation is: The 'Royal' Pony
Camaraderie is, so to speak, fantastic.

When you start at KTH (the Royal Institute of Technology), before classes actually start for real, you go through a kind of ceremony called 'N0llning', or... 'Zer0fication' i guess would be an ok translation. The new recruits are the 0, and we where basically the worst thing in existence. Then there are 'Det Konglig Skaenderi', which pretty much translates to 'The Royal Bullies'. They are pretty much portrayed as demigods (which they clearly are) and they decided it was appropriate to show incomprehensible generosity and teach us new students how to act at KTH, how to study at KTH, and most importantly, how to party at KTH.

Needless to say, they aren't actually bullies. They are the biggest trolls ever, but everybody knows it, so it's ok.

An example of their level of trolling. They had us sit in a dark auditorium, while they blasted the cheesiest 8 second accordion loop ever... for an hour. I enjoyed it... Cause that's my jam...and I love to see others suffer at the hands of polka but much sanity was lost that day.

Hey good luck!!! I'm glad that you're feeling comfortable around people you obviously seem to trust. That's one of the greatest feelings is being able to tell a secret to someone and have them respect you for it. I remember when I "came out" to my friend about my odd enjoyment of wearing diapers. I know he's thought it was weird but he hasn't told any one and he still respects me. I actually felt closer to him after that. And when I told him I was a brony was another time that I told him a secret and he respected me for it. He is my closest friend.

But I hope that this goes well for you. I'm not even entirely sure what it is that you're coming out with top them since I don't know you really well or personally, but I'm sure it's something kind of important to you. Good luck.
And reports are expected for results :3

More venting than hugging, unless there's drama.

However much I love to share the general MLR mindset, it does somewhat worry me.

Honestly I've been debating if I want to stick around mlr as all it is is high schoolers complaining about their parents in different threads. Guys I know being a teen is rough but talk it out with them or leave the venting for the venting thread. It's emotional littering and it is getting annoying. Let this thread and the forum be less about that please.

He's said it before actually. Quite a long while ago. Maybe more than a year.
Probably more than a year.

Okay so I found something that I urge ALL of you to check out: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=P ... BAUslD7-V4
An in-a-nutshell explanation of what this is: this small collection of videos is about a boy named Kelvin Doe. He's from Sierra Leone, and at the age of 11 he collected scrap electronics to create loose parts that would eventually combine into a full music set: mixer table, microphone, FM transmitter. He became DJ Focus, and his community religiously listened to his radio station that he created by himself.
I especially want you to see the fourth video, in which this boy gives a presentation for TEDxTeen (for those of you who don't know, TEDtalks is an ... organization(?) that creates oppurtunities for -truly- inventive people with fresh ideas to share their ideas, or their story, with a crowd of varying size). What he said in that talk I can't summarize, but I so wish that a lot of producers out there will see it once, because it is truly beautiful and inspiring.

I agree with Freewave, it fills up threads. It's like when spam went outside of the spam thread, but this time it's angst outside of the venting thread. Like I know you wanna vent but please put it where it belongs.
