It was a nice effort but ultimately lacked the same power as the original.

That is exactly the reason I submitted a second track, so if i can't be powerful i can make it a good thing.
and before you ask, faithless did the other track better

also, i may have been a bit harsh on your track. i have a tendency to exagerrate small things the first time i listen to them, and your track had quite a bit of things i listen to for the first time.

Before it starts, my hopes are high because an implied vocal track.
As it starts, i had to check if the tempo is 128 because it's too fast. AND YES IT'S 130 I HATE YOU (and so can 4thimpulse)

I honestly hoped for more vocals and a breakdown before the drop, but i guess that works too.
The drop itself has a kind of MadeonMeetsSwedishHouseMafia feel. I have no idea what rosemary is saying but i don't really care... oh a second breakdown. i like the plucky sounding thing.
Halftime. That part doesn't really sit with me well. It works well as a ending track, but i'd like some pads after the last hit.

What's so bad about 130BPM? It's just like with people complaining about 128 - personal preference. So what's your rating then. I'll take that 2/10 to the face like a man!

It's weird, though. I have no troubles understanding what she's singing.

So should we (hypothetically, in a couple of months or so obviously) have another of these?

Okay so do you guys still want me to send that email to EqD? And what do I include in it if so? I'm seeing mixed reactions. I could just include the bandcamp and youtube links I guess...

And yes we should do another, maybe i'll be able to make music electronically by then.

Also: 128 is very popular, it's essentially the speed of 130, but each bar is synced much better with time :3
Making a track 130 would make it stand out to the rest and require 4th to match it for him to mix it properly :)

Now that i know the lyrics i won't have any problems with understanding them yay.

the problem with 130 BPM is that most house is at 128 and 130 BPM makes it harder to mix in clubs.
Tracks made for radio are usually at 130BPM for the reason that it makes the track shorter so there is more content in less time so there's more time for commercials (some radios speed up tracks at 128) 1,5% may not seem like a lot, but when you're playing house all the time it may give you at least ten more minutes of ads daily.

Oh, also i really liked your track and i give it a 8/10

Oh, okay. I had no idea about the radio thingie. I don't tend to stick to the same BPM with each new track. I like changing the mood and style from time to time, and this was just the case. I'm sorry if it came out so problematic, but at the same time most mixing apps have BPM mix-match transitions.

And thanks for the rating. :)

Matthew N. wrote:True, but as I was saying in quite a few places while I was working on this track, the non-conformismwas my aim. The thing you call "chaotic" was there for a reason. The fact that people can't figure out the genre (electro house vs. complextro vs. progressive house) was also intentional. It's a non-standard track, and I wanted it to be just like that. I like experimenting, and I guess I shall keep going this way.

Nevertheless, good technical execution is what validates weird ideas like that :P

I don't know. Reactions so far have been mixed but generally somewhat positive. If we did send it to EqD, we'd have to wait like a month for the next album release, right?

Actually, go for it.

My head actually hurts from the bass...
FUCK NO JESUS DID YOU JUST USE SAMPLES NO PLEASE FUCK YOU SINCERELY FROM ME, GO DIE IN A FIRE FOR THESE COMPLETELY UNFITTING SAMPLES REALLY YOU SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN BORN AND WHEN I SEE YOU I WILL RAPE YOU WITH A HUGE RAKE JUST FOR THE COMPLETELY UNRELATED TO THE TRACK SAMPLES.

Lol I'll get rid of the samples. I honestly have no idea why I even added those there. I tried to give it a theme, but yeah wouldn't know how to exactly do that properly until 3 months later. Yeah I'm gonna re-render it without samples. I wanted to do a Aloe & Lotus house track but this came out. I'll just stick to trance lol.

And sorry about the bass. I have no way of checking it because I don't have a sub. Alesis monitors doesn't pick up bass like they should so they sounded weak to me and on PEQ2.

Mix is out, nice!

Thanks for reviews! And Bartekko, you're correct. I don't have proper equipment to judge the lows below 60hz, so I go it blindly by the tools and it's hit and miss most of the time.

Alright, I sent the email in with all the right info, but they may need a description as well. For examples of how they do that, refer to thishttp://www.equestriadaily.com/2013/01/album-compilation-january-20th.html

So if Nine could write up a little description to send, that'd be cool.
