<original><non-pony>[Dance] Vitality

Postby Amnesiac » 02 Oct 2012 18:09

Hello again! I have not posted anything for quite a while now, so let's remedy that. Although I've mainly been focusing on learning heavy basses and such, I've been listening to a lot of dance-style-ish music lately, so I decided to once again try my hand at something that's not dubstep.

Tell me what you think! Critique is, of course, always welcome.

This is just a personal thing, but the kick is so soft. But besides that, oh man this gives me a nostalgic feel. Like the good ol days of actual techno.
Huh...
Although the only thing I'd probably suggest is maybe have a second lead? Something not too different from the main, but variate near the end of the song? Just to get that repetitive feeling out when its closer to the end of the track. You don't have to do that, but probably add something so it doesn't sound too repetitive.

I feel as if this song could use a little wideness, it come's off as very monophonic, And the kick, could be beefed up a tad bit, also by the middle of the first part I already could recite the key's in my mind... may or may not be a bad thing, Good meaning it's catchy, bad it being predictable.

Great song none the less *Smile Face hah*

Thanks for the critique, guys! Really helps me out. And I'm not even Shibby.

In response to KayinKento:
I didn't intend to particularly make the kick hard, but I wasn't trying to make it "soft" either. And you're right, the end could use a little variation in it. I kinda made this a little hastily, just to upload some music.

In response to Nonsence_Profile:
It's not very stereophonic because my headphones stopped working in my left ear before I got to much mixing, so I mixed everything in mono. As for the keys in the first part, I just wanted them to establish the mood of the song, so I didn't put much effort past the initial melodies. But you're right, I probably should try to make things a bit less predictable.
