First off I would like to apologize to Interrobang Pie and Omnipony for this horrible monstrosity of a mash up. None the less I've been dying to make this. I seriously love Omni and I-Pie's track, "Return" if you haven't heard it:
I attribute this song to informing me that a brony music community existed, and I just LOVE that melody. So I heard it combined in my head with another track from one of my favorite games, "Apparitions Stalk the Night" from "Touhou 6: Embodiment of Scarlet Devil," If you've never heard it before:
I also had some sort of project that would call for a mashup like this, so I began to work. It began with good intentions, but I could NOT figure out the melody of Return. I got close, but some of the subtleties I can't extract. I had a MIDI of AStN, but I had to fit them together somehow. I finally got tired of waiting and decided to take some creative liberties with the Return melody. (Note: I changed it's key so it's going to sound different). I took a more boss fight like stance with this one, so keep that in mind. I also don't have the control I want over massive so the wubs aren't like omni's.
tl;dr tell me what you think! I seriously would like some opinions on this one!!!! Do NOT pull ANY punches.
Well, I'm not too keen on the subject matter, but then again that's not what's important. A good-sounding mix is a good-sounding mix, and this, my friend, sounds good.
(I wouldn't have any place criticizing mashup subject matter anyway, because I once mashed Eminem and Justin Bieber.(I did it for the lulz I swear))

I am not a fan of mashups.. but this is sounding really good. Personally I think you need to bring out the kick and snare more especially when the bassline is going, everything else is fiting together nicely. I enjoyed this track.
Thanks guys! I must have been really self conscious when I wrote it I guess. I already compressed the drums lol, but I'll see if I can make em even louder

Thanks for the input though! I really need it!!
I would say use compression as a last resort to increasing the volume as it will ruin the dynamics and even sound of the drums.
Do you know much about transient editing? I would suggest getting dominion (its a signal modelling vst), what it will do is increase or decrease the volume of the transients on your drums. I would be glad to help you out when using the vst as I may look confusing at first.
I added some congas and hi-hat emphasis. I know what you meant by breaking the beat up and have fills, I'll do that later when FL Studio isn't flipping shit >_<
It sounds better, there is still room for the snare to come out so I would add a bit more verb and volume. The main melody synth is too loud and the bassline coud be a bit loud when that melody plays.
It is sounding really good now! The snare is a little too strong in the second verse but fine for the rest (I would give the exact time but the player doesnt tell me the time) You can turn the decay on ther snare reverb down a small amount. The hi-hats seem a bit off to me but I like those fills. Change up the kick drum pattern to keep it interesting.
I can only listen on my cheap headphones now so I cant give any more adive on the sound and mix, but the kick drum still needs more variation throughout the song.
That can be done, but what have you been using for headphones? A friend of mine who has some very nice headphones says the drums drown everything else out. Perhaps they were being perceived as not loud enough due to your headphones?
