I'm going to say yes although it really depends on what you're trying to do. If you're making a reese bass or something that's reliant on detune, the starting position of each oscillator can impact the sound. Also, if you want to see an example of how changing phase position can be useful, phase synced basses are pretty cool.

If you were on a deserted island, would you resort to cannibalism before starvation?

Wasn't there a plane crash where that actually happened?

I haven't read a book recently :I If you don't count looking up formulas in a physics handbook, which is quite interesting. In that case: Karlebo Handbok
Spoiler This why:
Image
SCIENCE!!!
This is the E string of a bass guitar, with a tension gauge mounted to the string. It's suposed to measure linear tension on the string as it vibrates, although it's picking up the left right part instead :/
I'm gonna compare the signal from it to the signal from the pickups and see if it's useful for anything, and it looks like if you filter out the dc you get in the signal whenever you touch the string it would give roughly the same output, only slightly phased and with some sort of natural LP filter, probably due to the gauges inertia.
It's for a big final school project to show I know some science and stuff, due on friday... and I haven't finished writing it yet... why am I online...

Anyway, if you do know anything about this that I might want to know... plz tell me

Wow, that's a long text! :O

Though it's mostly about what is creativity, not so much how a computer may achieve this. I think it would be a big challenge to create a creative computer, but studding human creativity would help allot. We don't actually know how creativity works yet, but hopefully some day we will know.

I'm actually not sure creativity exists at all, I think it's an illusion from complicated subconscious reasoning. We remember which notes go together, we remember rhythms, we remember what colour pants we see. We get then from our subconscious a list of possibilities, and our preconscious mind (that's our inhibitions, or "the box", like the one you think inside) lets through only some of these "ideas". That's where I think the "creativity" lies, the ideas that are let through the are the ones that comply with the rules we have set up, rules like next notes gotta be in this scale, or it's gotta be an adjective, or even it has to be blue. Some rules are probably much more abstract, but the point is, to be "creative" and just make something new you have to think outside the box, cause that's where all the crazy ideas are. Those ideas aren't necessarily good, but then you can at least filter through them, using your experience to guide you. Easiest example is to open up to notes out of scale, sometimes they work great, but if you don't let that idea through you won't know, you gotta try. Even in math, you let through a bunch of ideas of how to solve something, but if your first idea doesn't work, let another one take it's place. And I'm to tired to get my box opened now, so I'm running out of things to write.

And for question 2, I enjoy it. I get huge endorphins and stuff every time I realise I have created something good, be it a song or a circuit. I love feeling like I'm good at something :)

What is your definition of creativity?

No, no one will because self promotion almost never works until you've made a good number of friends. Frankly, we don't really know you at all but you keep asking for promos and its rubbing a number of people the wrong way. If you want exposure, go to reddit or big forums to promo. This is a place for improvement, not for becoming the next big thing.

Okay?
