Luna (Minimal House Cover [Feat. BeautifullyAbstract])

Postby SeanNH94 » 24 Dec 2011 09:27

Hello, everypony! Today I bring you a song that I'm fairly proud of. I've been working on it for months, and I finally feel as if it's good enough to release. Hope you like it!

Oh no, It's not my voice lol. The vocals are from Beautifullyabstract's cover of Luna. She was kind enough to let me use them for my remix. I'm glad you dug the bass, I really tried to go for that pumping house bass. Anywho, Thanks for the love, brony! ^_^

I like the elements that are all here, it would be nice to hear additional synths or an arpegiator during the vocal refrains as they are just too bare i feel. You seem to bring in more synths only when the singing is absent. It doesn't really have much of a dance groove to it except near the end (but it may be intentional) Otherwise this is a good cover for the most part but perhaps a bit too minimal. ;)

There are only two synths in the entire song; I just open and close various filters for different sounds. I really wanted to keep things minimal, though you have a very valid point when you say the vocal refrains are pretty bare. I really wanted her vocals to be the main focus, but perhaps I went a little overboard with the minimal feel. Anyway, thanks for listening, and thanks for the critique!
