"Life Goes On" A Farewell Album

Postby Muffhunter » 12 Jun 2013 03:15

What is this album?
Its a farewell album, Like a goodbye and have a nice life album. Something like Balloon Party, 30 artist, 30 songs

Whats the story?
Fellow Musician Muffhunter, Joined only like a week ago.
But if he would of known about this site, he would of joined a long time ago.
But Awhile back, I had met this girl over FB. She lived in a different state and everything.
I met her through a facebook page I had owned, that had over 3k likes. She had commented on a photo I posted and I thought she was cute so I started talking to her.
We started skyping and yea. I eventually saved up my money from a job to travel and see her. Which I did. I lived in IL and she lived in MI. It was an amazing visit, and it had changed my life.
Anyways, On my way home, I promised her that id change my life and come up and live with her when I get the chance. Heres the interesting part, I had to talk to my PO (Probation Officer) about going to live with her, and she was fine with that, Id just get a new PO in MI.
(Im on probation for fighting, ignore that)
She said when im 18 I can move up there.
Im 18 on July 26th. So in a month is my departure to live with the love of my life.
and im basically quitting music when I go up there, to support her and myself.

What does this have to do with the album?
I wanted to start a farewell album, or something Like balloon party. I wanted 30 songs, and 30 different artist, something to remind me of you guys! Itd be released on Bandcamp. But this site seemed really cool, and wanted to remember you amazing musicians!

What are the details?
Any genre is allowed.
Theme: Happiness
Due date: August 1st
Album Release: August 14th
I know its not much time. Im sorry but hopefully some people will participate

Where do I submit?
Send all submissions to [email protected]
or make a private soundcloud link and make it downloadable
Judges?
I need some judges at the moment if anyone wants to judge.
But we have so far
-PYR3LIGHT

I really thank you guys for doing this if you do!
It means a lot to me
Music has been fun
But life goes on!
Things change!
Its life
Ill also make sure the album gets promoted well and all you artist get noticed!
This really means much though! Life is just starting, and it feels good!
Anyways though, participate if you can or if you want! Much appreciated! (:
muffhunter

P.S. The album will be released under the name 7 Rainbowz

Hm, I wouldn't suggest giving up music, because you could actually use that to get a good job at a studio or get a temp job as a dj at a club while looking for a real job. Just from listening to your soundcloud thing below, you have more than enough experience and skill to land something like either of those real easy. The best part, you can continue to do music.

Congratulations! I'll definitely give this a shot. So some kind of Upbeat Electrohouse thing would fit the theme of 'Happy', right?

Not sure why we need to rally a community event around this theme. Last year people started up all kinds of event albums after BP and most never saw the light of day. This seems destined for the same fate tbh.

I don't understand why everyone is so pessimistic. What if this is very successful? It's awesome, even if it doesn't get as big as balloon party.

I think you're missing my point. You just joined MLR and you're asking for people to make a tribute album to YOU to celebrate your immediate departure? My question is why would you even propose such an event? Most people create such albums as fund raisers for charities or with particular goodwill themes in mind (Balloon PArty and R&R is funding musicians going to bronycon once a year) and yours seems centered around just yourself...

am i missing something....?

No its centered around anyone feeling happiness.
Making music doesnt always have to be about raising money, why cant it just be fun?

I've got nothing against making music for fun (we ALL do that here) but i think what you're proposing isn't well thought out or needs to be on mlr's event page if it's not going to be w/o a purpose or a well thought out idea. But if you're hell bent of running with it then i guess you will.

I never thought I'd say this but I agree with Freewave here and you still haven't really answered any of these. Why would you want something to remind yourself of us when you barely know anyone here?

I think its time to let the kid do what he wants, you've told him what typically happens here but he obviously wants to try anyway so lets let him.
