Hey guys, figured I'd just post this here to let everyone know.

On Skype, Circuitfry said you CAN NOT use your rejected R&R entries, they have to be brand new songs. Just figured I'd tell everyone here so you guys don't go working on something you won't be able to submit.

...seriously though, if we can't use our rejected tracks...what about a VIP of said tracks?

I would provide screenshots, but I'm currently on mobile, and about the whole VIP thing, I guess you'd have to ask Fry or someone who knows more. I'm just kinda relaying the message here.

Last time i checked cfry wasn't running this second one, the guys in the first post of the thread were. I would hope that cfry can publically post any news of anything different to that in a place where people could read that if its not the case (ie MLR).

You have two choices:
1) Redesign, restructure, remix or otherwise perfect your original R&R entry.
2) Create a track from scratch. Focus on attitude and just make it sound good.

I was given the impression originally that original R&R entries could perfected and resubmitted. *BUZZER* WRONG.

Guys the game has changed. (from what I originally wanted it to be, to what Circuitfry wants it to be-- out of my control). If you submit your original Rainbow & Rooted entries they will be rejected. Circuitfry apologizes to those who were rejected and says "Be proud of what you have created".

You may:
1) Remix your R&R song. Make it sound fresh, new, with your bad self.
2) Create a song from scratch. Make it sound as snazzy as you are.
3) Kill Aoshi

Talking about "One Last Shot" and about a chance for the tracks or for the artists. In this case, I would prefer a first one. Of course it's a good deal in setting of deadline in two weeks, and saying something about 'make it as you like/want', considering that the selection process will be the same as before. But I don't like it, so I probably out.

Keep your mind off this ^, I'm just another disgruntled, right?

I agree, I personally think it's a stupid idea... I am happy with how my track was, despite the vocals, since I had to sample them, and make my own A Capella, but after hearing the album, and the quality it was, I am not going to even attempt to make another track for this... Maybe if they get there game together, and be a little more organized the next time around, and set some more clear standard, I will... Taking some tips from IDMF on how to do a community album might not hurt either... I still stand by the whole RMS issue... I have done a few albums outside the brony fandom, and even before this fandom was around, and having a minimum RMS, wouldn't hurt... Pretty much with this album, it's like saying "I made a 4 track EP, mastered 2 songs 1 month, and waited 2 months later to master the other 2" I honestly feel they should get a few mastering engineers to master the tracks for the next album.... Have people send in their premaster, and go from there... The album would be a lot cleaner, and that would eliminate the RMS issue...

Like, Aoshi and whoever could organise an album for tracks that didn't quite make it onto R&R, give people a deadline for any finishing touches they wanna add, get the judging done, have a complete album ready to release
Message Circuitfry, say "we've got a good album here made up of tracks that didn't make it on to R&R -- yes or no?" Yes, then it gets released on the BP bandcamp page. No, Aoshi or whoever sets up a separate bandcamp page and release it separate from the original.
That would be my suggestion.

I think I'm done jumping through hoops this time around. It was one thing for a lack of organization the first time around but for Cfry to do the exact same thing again from his tumblr and want a brand new track in 2 weeks vs our original submissions (the same or remixed) is just unacceptable, might as well just call it "Toastbeard- The Album" then. If you guys want to put an album of quality tracks that were rejected from the original album then my original submission is still there. You don't have to have Cfry in charge of a rejects album, this was doing fine with Aoshi and friends original efforts in doing it independently and sticking with the original r&r submissions.

This might have already been asked, but will there be a teaser round for this? I'm guessing not because of how close the deadline is and because people seem to be posting full songs, but idk.

Here's what I've got so far (took me ~10 hours), it's mostly done but I'll probably change it a bit before the deadline.

Probably not.

Another good question would be whether it'd do the album any good if it just sat there between two other R&R albums, with no selling point except for a watered down version of the original 'fast and stylish' concept.
Being first and foremost a listener and collector of music, I think not.
I think it's up to the community now to come up with a slightly different concept that still fits a lot of the rejected entries.
It'd also be braver and more honest to do so: your stuff DID get rejected, probably for good reasons, now go and try something else with it.
I have an idea that I might post in this subforum later, but I might as well just try and contact the people I think might be interested, without making it an event.
Gotta make up my mind on this.
