you can use selective colorization to recolor it. Just open in GIMP, duplicate the image, desaturate the second layer ("Average"), make a (or two or three) transparency(ies) over it, set the setting of each to "Overlay", and color each with the color(s) you want (keep one color for each layer). This lets you recolor the image without making it look "shifted" or mspainted. Its easy and fun
