PLZ MAKE A POST LETING US KNOW WHEN IT'S YOUR TURN AND YOU'VE STARTED WORKING!
----
Since the reformation Discord hasn't been quite the same. The spreader of chaos is no longer what he was. The once endless onslaught of randomness has died down to what might be described as a sensible level! This is something I can not stand for! For to long has the chaos been repressed! Let us now join in disharmony and concoct a slurry of non-compatible genres and styles in honour of the master of chaos him self.
For those of you how wheren't with us the last time: Legacy of Discord has had two instalments thus far. The First one and the Second one. It is basically one great big collab that involves any and every MLR member who wishes to join in. Everyone makes a small contribution, a short clip of around 4 to 8 bars, which is then put together into one long track representing the huge musical diversity MLR has to offer!
Here's what we ended up with before:
So...
The basic idea is: Add 4 or 8 bars to the project, then pass it on to the next pony in line
And now for DA RULZ. I'm changeling some a few things since before, so plz read plz. (I'll try to throw in a few puns to make it worth reading)
1. EVERYPONY is welcome! Any and all can join! :D
2. FUN! FUN! FUN! This is for fun, and a fun group thing, so don't whine. Unless you're being held captive by Evdog and his friends.
3. Submissions should be made in 2 forms. Firstly, and most importantly is the LOSSLESS file of your submission. That means you rendered it in WAV, AIFF, FLAC or some other lossless audio format I don't know about. Title this file with your username followed by the name you want credited in parenthesis. So If I wanted the credit for my part to read "Flao sharkpon" I would title my file: "FLAOFEI (Flao sharkpon)". If you just want your username in the credits there is no need for the parenthesis. These will then be compiled (probably by me) to become the final track.
Secondly is the .mp3 where you add your part to the full track so far and then render it as an mp3. The mp3 is only to be used as a progress-o-meter so we can get a rough idea of how the full track sounds so far. If you want to edit the previous submission (see rule 6 for what your allowed to do) to lead into your part better, then use the lossless file.
4. When submitting, you should give us the tempo, time signature and key you used it in.
5. Submissions should be 4 or 8 bars long plus a short fade in and/or tail if you want to. But since how long that is depends on your tempo the rule is going to be around 10 to 20 seconds long (not counting fade in and tail). We're gonna be pretty relaxed about length though. If you're unsure, check the earlier projects and earlier submissions.
6. You are allowed to alter the end of the previous submission SLIGHTLY! Be nice though! Change as little as possible, and keep it restricted to the last bar. If you do alter anything, use the lossless file, and when rendering, keep the previous track in full and name your lossless submission "[previous submission title] - [your title]". So if I'm changing something from JokeBlues submision I will render both his 4 bars, and my 4 bars, and title it "JokeBlue - FLAOFEI"
7. You can do whatever you want music-whise, but don't do anything that can be paingful in headphones. and... she told us to keep obscenities at a minimum... shhhhhhhhhh... And don't be pointlessly offensive.
8. There will be a queue list dictating who is next further down this post. You apply to the list with a post in this thread and I will add you to the list. Then you stand in line until it's your turn. By that time you might not remember ever applying... I'll try to remind people via pm when their turns are coming up, but I can't promise anything. You will have 2 or 3 days to respond, and if we don't hear from you before that you're turn is skipped. It's harsh, but it's gotta keep moving :/ If you know you won't make it in time, be sure to tell. That way the next person doesn't have to wait for nothing. If you have missed your turn for some reason or another you can ask to be put back in the line, and depending on how good your sob story is I might put you next or fifth or something like that.
9. You can go more than once, but don't be greedy. Greed leads to jealousy. Jealousy leads to fear. Fear leads to hate. And hate leads to the dark side.
