Site Feedback and News

Sports, politics, movies, videogames, questionable hobbies, photos from your family vacation, etc. Talk about stuff that isn't ponies or music. But do try to stay on topic and respectful of alternate opinions.

Hardly.

On a serious note, the site could definitely use spoilertags for dealing with textwalls, but especially for dealing with threads where we just kind of vomit up YouTube embeds... Loading 50 embeds per page is not particularly fun.

Spoiler tags still load everything that's in them, it just hides what's in them. So for performance, I'm afraid that accomplishes nothing.

How about a battle thread? I'm not talking about the competition one either.
Let's say I want to challenge someone to a music showdown thing, like a friendly competition. They make a thread pretty much saying "Who wants to challenge me?". Any takers can enter. Then, some random pony(or even the artist that made the thread) can say "Alright, you need a make a <random genre or theme> track, and have it done by <random time>", or it can be a remix competition, like "You need to remix <random song> using these samples", or simply "make a <genre/theme> song using these samples.
And generally sometime after the due date, a voting thread comes up and the community votes on their favorite track. May the best pony win!
It would be a GREAT way to have a friendly competition, and very fun in my opinion. Heck, there doesn't even need to be a voting part of it!

Battles between two people are just too silly. I'd rather just have a challenge thread so that anyone can join in.

One particular challenge I was thinking of a while ago was cover _____ from memory.

Point is though, we have no active challenges. And they do battles over at Future Producers(look here).
They all have a blast doing it as well!
Just an idea. If we can get challenges more often, then I'd be alright with challenges.

Besides, battles can be a whole community thing! Anypony who wants in can join. It's not like it's exclusive to people.

I mean, it would be great to do a battle thing other then toastbeard. Toastbeard can't be here all the time. You can't do one whenever you want.
Trust me, I've done a few battles there, it's awesomely fun. Maybe we can at least try it out?

Not sure who is occasionally doing this, but given that it didn't happen before Makkon appointed new mods and Circuit is the only person who browses Ponychan regularly who I know, could someone please talk to him about his mod powers? He seems to think that, as a mod, he HAS to use them at every possible opportunity. And then there's this silliness. I mean it's okay for a Skypechat, but I don't think that it's wholly appropriate for MLR.

I'm not like offended or anything, but this is the kind of thing that could get annoying in a hurry. Just saying ^.^

Yeah, not sure I can condone editing unsuspecting members posts for no reason, unless it's a spam topic. I'll mention it to him.

I was wondering why do I keep scrolling so much between pages. Is there a way to change the amount of posts per page?
