Sound design/mixing/mastering. I can usually write something somewhat interesting on sheet music, play it and it sounds good, but when it comes to actually making a sound I want and getting sounds to mesh into something that resembles electronic music I'm pretty terrible.

I haven't even started anything concrete. Get these brain ideas that never make it to the computer. Stupid laziness.

Mixing and mastering. Often I just forget to mix at all, and mastering is something I generally only do a little of. I'm getting better though.

I spend way too much time worrying about mixing everything while I'm working on a song. I know it's a lot easier to just get the everything like melodies, progressions, structure, what instruments you use etc. down first and then mix/master once everything is down, but, but I can't help myself D:
I like to think I'm well-rounded because I'm not really good at anything.

Same. Though I do feel it's easier to put a track together when it's all mixed.

I do mixing as I go, and mastering for me is usually as simple as compressing (but not to Hell and back) and EQing a little.

Oh, topic. Erm... Still melodies.

I have a tendency to copy/paste (though I'm trying improve there), I don't know mastering, and I use MIDI guitars.

I'm lazy as hell and need preciously perfect environment to get my ideas into products (in which I almost never can access my DAW).

The last time I had an urge to work on music was when I was supposed to be working on a history essay. The last time I was creating an original song instead of finishing existing, was when I was on a fever last spring.

Just like I've made my best drawings on boring lessons. Last fall I improved my drawing skills A LOT by doodling on a blank white paper on lessons.

More than I'd like to admit, actually.
Motivation, writing melodies, no real understanding of scales or notes, lack of proper musical theory.
I'm learning though by making music, so it's all good. Melodies though... man, still can't do them. xD
Disregard my username here. I go by Smokescape now.

I have trouble with scheduling. My music time has been severely cut by me not being good at calculus, forcing me to stay my hand from my daw. I have my appointed 30 minutes of dicking around in film production, and then it's back home to my folks yelling at me about my grades and shoving my face into a tutor. As such, my collabs have taken a dive, and I feel that I'm letting mah bros down. I'll probably try to get something done in the morning tommorow (got mah caffine, gtg) and bang out some stuff to send to those guys, but beyond that, I'm not doing shit. So finally when I'm feeling the urge to make music, I can't.

I am going through almost the exact same thing, except I'm failing AP European History and won't be getting a tutor.

Which reminds me: collabs.

I have this issue where I want to collab with a lot of people, but schedule it poorly and never finish (or even begin) any of the collabs. I have let down a shitload of people, and I feel terrible about it.

Speaking of which, one of these days, you should record yourself doing a riff on that guitar of your's and shoot it over here. I'll think of something to do with it.

I'll get to it whenever I finish the Skrillex remix (which is probably going to be late anyways).

Creating what I want.

I can come up with these awesome tunes in my head, and once I set out to make them I simply can't due to my ass-backwards ability at sound design. I think I register for top 10 worst sound designers, and as such my synths never sound like they do in my head. Then I give up or create something with what I can do.

That and elongating melodies. Anything over eight beats is really hard for me.
