Remix War IV Panic thread

Wohoo. I've had a terrible, terrible cold for the past two weeks, and shit is what happens when I have to jump straight to growling and harsh singing. =/

Gonna have to do a lot of recording at 1 AM because the practice rooms are literally filled all fucking day...

I haven't done much at all other than a 4 bars of a simple remix... I think I should be able to get something finished though, maybe not something musically brilliant (the remix isn't too different from the source), but at least something listenable that won't make ears bleed

Completely and utterly out of inspiration.

I have 0 seconds of music.

I have just over 48 hours left to do something.

Ha haaa, I can't music worth shit and I did it entirely by recording instruments through microphone and on my own, but mine's done. Ears will bleed, and WoodenToaster will slit his throat with humiliation, it'll be pretty great. Except that his stuff kinda rules, so I'd rather he not die.

Pretty down-to-the-wire for me, though, since I have NO free time for the next five days, so as far as I'm concerned it was due an hour ago.

Oh, and my percussion line was done by popping open an M&Ms Minis tube. IT'S THAT HIGH-TECH.

This will be the weekend that I die

Jeff, I'm sorry, but I'll be turning your song into a full symphony. No brass, woodwinds, percussion. All strings. And I'll be rewriting it completely.

Mumble, I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M GOING TO DO, BUT I'LL THINK OF SOMETHING

So, I was quite confident that I'd get everything done, but now a combination of:
- Midsession Exams.
- Preperation for aforementioned exams
- Band Practice, which I can no longer skip; and
- Law Ball

have absorbed all time since tuesday, and will absorb all time until the early hours of saturday.

I'm now totally screwed.

Soz guys.

I'm worried my song will be rejected from the event for being too goofy and not taking itself too seriously. I know you guys are doing more quality control on this one. It's not meant to be a bad song, mind you, just a bit silly.

I think unless the song features explicit lyrics or is totally ear-raping - everything is okay, and I don't see any reason why to reject a song if it is just too silly or not properly mixed and produced.
Last remix war we've had several songs which were cool but just a bit repetitive or raw-sounding, and that was quite ok? Am I wrong?

Awww... don't panic, everypony, surely it's all good?

I don't know shit about what this is having been too busy with all too many things to have even noticed it was happening, but I look forward to seeing what it is, when the hoi polloi not-clever ponies get to come and see the results :)

Don't freak out. Just come up with the next right thing to do, and take one step at a time, and you'll be okay :) if you don't have the perfect thing to do, you can have _A_ reasonable thing to do, and do that.

A recording-studio owning friend talked on a podcast about working with bands that ain't exactly inspiring. He said, you can look at it two ways- one way is, if you take anything that comes in the door you're a whore. The other way is if you take anything that comes in the door you're a Clydesdale :)

Just keep pullin', you'll get there :)

Yay, my concerns are now gone 'cause Toaster liked my version of his song so I'm sure it'll go over fine. Now my only purpose in this thread is to try to be motivating.

Maybe we should consider postponing the deadline a bit...? I mean, just look at this thread, half of MLR are barely into their entries. Postponing the Remix War would pretty much insure that everyone finishes.

Just my two cents. <3

Well if we postpone it, next Saturday is a no no because it might cause some problems for people (like me) who will be attending BroNYCon.
