I have an idea for a new link. I'm relatively new to this music thing, and I know little of the terminology used here. For example, I have no idea what a synth or a stem is.

What I am proposing is a sort of a dictionary thread with definitions of terms you are likely to come across when making music. It would certainly help me out a lot.

Broken link note: the 'guitars' link leads to a thread about microphones.

Thanks for the heads up. Weird. It seems whenever a link drops the link will switch to something else.

I'm just starting out and have all the gear, I even have the creative spark needed. I'm just lacking the ability to put that all together on a program and get it sounding right. I haven't read them yet but I really have a good feeling this guide will get me heading in the right direction.

Ah, I would like to contribute a site! This place has worked WONDERS for me:
http://howtomakeelectronicmusic.com/

Within, you will find very detailed, thorough tutorials on almost every aspect of electronic music production in FL Studio. There is also an associated YouTube channel with video tutorials. Best of all? You can download the project files. Two hooves up.

But seriously, I'm a new musician and the first genre I want to get into is dark ambient, like Aurastys or your If Equestria Burns. I would be so grateful.

Wow, I'm so gonna Watch That Video :)

I really want to make good Orcheatsral Arrangements (like how I rearranged the word Orchestral there)
I make different kinds of music, often get told that It sounds like something for a Video Game because I make only instrumentals, never had a chance to make music for an actual game. I would love to.
