Serious issues with FL Studio 11 rendering

Postby Moonswirl » 18 Feb 2015 11:44

Since I'm a composer for video game loops and such, I have to use filetypes like .ogg, and use render methods like wrap remainder for perfect, seamless loops.

But, I've ran into a serious problem. The renders are screwed up. Completely FUBAR.

Broken version with wrap remainder:

How it's supposed to sound, using cut remainder:

As you can tell, the Kontakt Aeon loop used is missing.

An even more jarring example, again with wrap remainder:

How it's supposed to sound, using leave remainder:

What in god's name happened to Massive there?

This is getting seriously annoying, and I'd like to know if there's a fix for this.

1. Try rendering as anything other than ogg to make sure it's not just ogg disagreeing with wrap remainder
1.2. If that's the problem; render wav and open said wav into FL again and rerender to ogg
2. don't use wrap remainder
Nice.

It's wrap remainder. Just tried rendering to a .wav, and Aeon was still missing.
This is seriously frustrating, considering now I either have to tweak the reverb, delay and release of all my leads close to the end of a track, or just live with an awkward cutoff for them...

I don't use FL, but I'll bet you could wrap it manually. Render an audio segment that is longer than your loop—long enough to let the reverb dissipate—chop your loop and tail into two audio segments, align their start points, and render again. Might be a good workaround if this is only an intermittent problem.

Try freezing tracks that are getting messed up.

Image-Line has a tutorial on how to do that on their YouTube channel.
Nice.
