New Years Resolution

It is that lovely time of year again! Time to say what our new years resolutions are and hopefully fulfill them. So what is your resolution? If you don't have one, is there anything that you would like to accomplish in 2014?

Mine is simple: Do more collabs. I did like 2 this year and one of them I just asked someone to sing for me.

To get at least one gig making music for a game this year
To at least trim the slight tum I'm getting, if not get FIT
Sort myself out in general

#1 Goal: Quit chewing tobacco (for good this time).

Smaller goals:
- Make more music.
- Start working on a bachelors in computer animation.
- Become proficient in Autodesk Maya.
- Make a fake Fallout Equestria trailer with full CGI.

-Get out the album I've been planning to do for ages, as well as more music in general.
-Work more on self-promotion / getting a site and portfolio up
-Get a gig doing a game or short film
-Talk to musicians more, there are a ton of great guys on here and other sites that I don't know nearly as well as I should.
-Decide what I'm going to do past high school. Right now I'm planning on doing a two year audio engineering course, but past that I'm not sure.

So far, all the resolutions have included "maek moar moosic." I shall agree with this resolution; Before December 29th, 2014, I will publish more than 43 videos on my channel. Even if it's only one video more than this year, I shall do it!

Also, I want to cut an album before the year ends. I've always wanted to do it, and I've been given every opportunity to do it, so I'm going to promise myself I will.

For bonus points, I'd like to visit a con this coming year. Never have, and it would be fun to see what all the fuss is about.

- Replicate a fart perfectly in any synth (bonus points if it's done with massive)
- Make new friends at Uni
- Make more melodic music

- learn to flip a pancake (I always fail spectacularly at it)
- Don't go deaf

Get better at mixing.
Do music for some films that I wouldn't be ashamed to show anyone and put on my resume.
Find a way to get on the music panel at a con even though I don't/can't perform my music.
Devise a way to perform my music.
Write a synth or something else cool in pd or Max/MSP.
Write some more mellow music. Big bombastic orchestration gets tedious.
Get faster at writing music, so I can release something at least every 3 weeks.

currently 1920x1080. It will prolly stay that way until I move out and live on my own. Then I may drop more money on building a computer and get a fancy dancy 4k reso monitor.

srsly tho, just to practice making more music and get bigger and better.

Hmmm, mine is probably to try and get more work for web design. I got my first professional job this year, and hopefully will be swamped with work next year. It'll all come down to how much I can promote myself. I guess generally just generate more income for myself so I can buy more than spaghetti once I get to college next year (though I love spaghetti and would gladly live off of it if I wouldn't die from malnutrition).

I also wanna sample a ton more stuff and make Konakt instruments. And oh, release an album/LP/EP or something at least for the year... man I work too slowly...

Other than that, just learn more in general. Learning is great, especially when you're not stuck in school.

- get my social life sorted and stop taking friends for granted
- finish my S3 album, it's been collecting dust for too long
- do a collab at some point
- get the Golden Mouthpiece at Generations in Jazz
- get a good ATAR for my final year of high school
- release more music, although don't make more music because studying is probably more important

Well, since everyone's saying they'll make more music, I might as well dedicate myself to actually getting into this big-time. Learn more theory, produce more music, buy more equipment, and hopefully gain more recognition. 2014 will be the year I realise my potential.
