For a few days I've got the Waldorf Rocket in my studio now. Cute machine with a powerful sound. Just need to find out what I can use it best for.

From the demo's I heard it can be capable of a nice range of sound (considering size), could be great for layering over some other synths.

My modular is looking real nice now that I've got it stained and my first round of modules in. They are quite expensive to start but once you get over the initial wallet pain (thanks to a ~$350 power supply and $100 home made case) its pretty smooth sailing. Now I can buy the modules I need at a slow, wallet friendly, pace.

Left to right that's a midi interface, oscillator, and amplifier. The last panel is just a blank piece and the thing on the bottom is the PSU.
Next up is a filter and an envelope generator, then I will have a complete (but very limited) voice.

~$1,500 for the COTK version... don't think I will be for a very long time. The original appears to go for $4,000, so definitely not happening.

I'm going to see if I can get a microbrute after the holidays. I asked for it for christmas;but my parents probably won't get it as its both expensive [though super cheap for a synth] and they don't really understand how much I love making electronic music and despite doing it for two and a half years still think its a throw-away hobby. However, I have almost enough money to buy one, so I'll probably buy it as soon as I can.

its mostly a toy for me, and a reason to play with ableton, as I wanna get into that more. And ever since I got into music production, I kinda wanted a handson thing. Im probably just gonna be using it in bed while having a giggle.

Probably same; though I might use it for some stuff. I'm going to college next year though so having something small but versatile like a microBrute would be a super plus

I would definitely recommend trying to include in your music, it will take a couple months (my experience) before you really understand what you are doing with the synth and how you may want to incorporate it in your productions.

Welcome to the world of hardware!

I really wanna get a midi interface some time soon so I can finally try to get FL to send midi to my minibrute. I'm not even sure if theres an easy way of doing that with FL, if it ends up meaning that much to me I'll just get a daw that facilitates that kind of thing.

in the mean time does anyone know how to get FL to send midi out to something?

EDIT:

Me, but mostly in the band because my mixer at home is full, and a second one for daisychaining will have to wait until later this year.

So Roland is revamping the 808 and 909 drum machines.

I might get one if they're especially good. But I don't really have much use for a drum machine. Still, pretty keen to see this come out.
