<nonpony><progressive house> Radiate (WIP)

After 2.5 hours of work and a 2.5 other hours of musical failure, out comes this thing. Obviously, nothing is absolutely set in stone with this and I want this to be my best track (which it is not at the moment), so I would very much appreciate any kind of feedback :)

Good feedback. Nothing constructive, because I am sucky. Just thought I'd let you know I like it. Lots.

Well, here is my review, take it with a grain of salt since I'm still fairly new, but here it is:

1: From 0:00 to 0:46, you had a nice snare and kick combo going, but the kick felt too sharp compared to the snare. Er, for an analogy, the snare was like a rolling hill while the kick felt like a spike, sharp and sudden. It was good, but the kick was too sharp.

2: At around 0:50, you fade out with your synth, and then fade back in on the same note. I like that, I thought that while a slight bit cliche with the choice of synth, (It felt something similar to trance, even though I know it's progressive house, just felt similar to trance right there, at least to me, and I've heard a fair bit of trance do that fade effect, so I saw it coming) it was good. However with that fade, I felt like it held the silence for a little too long, it felt like if you deleted one second from the silent part, it would sound better. It sounded good, just held the silence too long.

3: From 0:55 to 1:16, you do several fade outs. They sound good and fit pretty well, except for one thing, they feel like they let the music get too quiet. Like they fade for too long. Maybe it's because it lacks enough reverb, or it just holds it for a half-second too long. This one I know the problem, but I'm not sure what the remedy would be.

4: At around 2:00, you add a second synth. It fits nicely and compliments the drums and first synth well, except for it feels slightly like it's too detuned, like a guitar that is mostly in tune when the rest of the band is fully in tune, sounds nice, but you can tell something is off about it. Maybe it's the note choice, but it felt like it was right choice of synth but not the right choice of tuning on the synth if that makes any sense.

5: At around 3:46, you finish off the song with the same kick and snare combo as what started off the song. It was the same as before, but it felt kind of hollow, like there should have been a small synth in the bass area somewhere. Not overpowering, but kind of just "there" if that makes any sense. It feels like the last 10 seconds with the kick and snare combo are slightly unneccesary, maybe this is because of lack of proper reverb and compression and other mixing stuff, but it just felt hollow compared to how the rest of the song sounded.

That's my review, take from it what you will! Hope it helps!
I love making music, but I don't have a genre I stick to. I just want to make music, so if you want to hit me up for a collab, go right ahead!

Yes, that's just the kind of feedback I was looking for! Thanks :)

Re: some of the feedback
About the snare (actually a single clap) - I meant for it to be very subtle in the beginning. I'd just listened to a BSOD song (I think it was called Monochrome) where they did that. That was right before I started this track. However, if it doesn't work I can change it.

The trance thing - I don't listen to trance, so I actually didn't even know about that. I just messed around with a basic saw wave and a high res lowpass + LFO and liked how it sounded :)

Detuned synth problem - There was one oscillator in there that was messing the whole thing up. I saw what you meant and took it out and it sounds better
