Ooh, I like this.
When I want a choral pad I layer it with an actual choral synth.
DSK ChoirZ is a pretty good free one, but it'll take some reverb and EQ/filtering.
Okay, here's what I got playing around with that for a few minutes:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/96651118/choir%20pad%20example.mp3This is how I did that:
1. Made an ambient-ish pad the way I normally would in Toxic Biohazard. 8 unison voices, some unison detuning and panning. One saw oscillator, one triangle pitched -12, one sine pitched +12. Decided not to dick around with FM this time, though that's always a fun option. Chorus and delay. Long attack, long release. Nothing really all that complex. Then I gave it a pretty heavy high-shelf, -11db at about 1300 hz.
2. Layered in the DSK ChoirZ plugin with Dark Voice on layer 1, Choral Aahs II on layer 2, and Slow Choir on layer 3. I basically picked random options until it sounded good, lol. Long attack and release on all of these. Then I reverb'd the FUCK out of it. 0% Dry, 100% wet, Room Size 100, no HighCut or LowCut or High Damping (using Fruity Reeverb here, FYI). EQ'd out around 300 Hz for this to make it a little less muddy when combined with the pad, but no other processing. You can probably mess with chorus and maybe even phasing a bit, but I didn't have much luck with it.
Then I played a few chords and that's it. Could probably get a bit more tricky with it - I only spent a few minutes on it - but I think it sounds pretty nice.
