Yes, just drop it on the page and then people can vote when the deadline expires.

I'm still waiting for that WAT log, Fluff.

Hey Sci, would you be interested in adding another compo type? I started a competition but I think it would be easier to have a submission and voting system like on Toastbeard because what we currently have isn't working. If you're interested, here's the thread: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=7604

I thought that when Sci said he had his own version of the logs, he meant he'd just post them. Oops.

the problem with adding more compos (especially more types of compos) is that scheduling becomes hard.

I've mostly given up on that, wherein I only schedule the weekual ZIQ and that's it. (though doof has picked up the slack and has been hosting several WAT compos (thanks dude))

so...yeah I'm not touching that. <_<

Well, in that case, how would I go about setting up an image board-esque site similar to yours?

take an existing image board software and modify it until it functions like toastbeard

or do what I did and build it from scratch

both require a bit of PHP knowledge <_<

anyway the syncs today were A TRAIN WRECK due to server issues

but here's what went down:

Why not make it a twice a month thing, or (better yet imho) monthly? Less pressure, more time to polish songs. Plus Doof has really been piling on the WATs lately. And the VRCs have been somewhat....lukewarm in turnout. A regular genre-specific compo sounds right up Toastbeard's alley. Sync listen on Sunday afternoon. Bam.

Monthly sounds like it could be cool, but at the same time having something like a weekly compo that I can use to try to force myself to keep doing music if I hit a rut does have its bonuses. I have no strong feelings one way or the other.
Personally, saturday's much better for me, since being on British time the synclistens are quite late in the evening for me, and being in full-time work I can't stay up that late in the evening on a sunday.

uhhh I'm posting this right before I leave + eat + doctor who

but basically:

Lying Pink wrote:Personally, saturday's much better for me, since being on British time the synclistens are quite late in the evening for me, and being in full-time work I can't stay up that late in the evening on a sunday.

this is not uncommon, which is why I try to keep syncs on Fridays / Saturdays.

eery wrote:Honestly, having longer deadlines, like vcr seems only to make fewer participate. I dunno, I kind of just look at it and think "Yeah, I have time later"

Then I forget.
that's my concern with monthual compos

this is an interesting idea, hmm..

Well with finals wrapping up I can compose more, however getting a second job sort of cancels that out :|

Gonna say that just overall trying to compose for VRC, ZIQ, WAT, on top of trying to make something for R&R, AND RB&V is kind of burning me out. My suggestion would be to maybe cut back the number of WATs and maybe make VRC monthly for one week only.

I agree with eery on the "once a month for one week" VRC because it seems most people don't write until close to deadline anyway  Maybe even don't have a ZIQ for the week of VRC (last weekend of every month?) until we get consistent ERS's again
I am here to see what you do and omg it's cute
