The guitar tonne is a little muddy. The idea seems cool though.

Well, i guess it depends on how you're recording?

Firstly, if you're using an mic to record an amp, don't set up the tone of the amp to sound good in the room, but actually put your head down to the level of the amp where the mic will sit. Sound diffuses differently depending on the frequency, so you'll get alot more bass right at amp level than in an ambient room setting.

On that note, cut the bass. There is way too much of it in the mix. Electric guitars are mid-range instruments, and most of their tone should be in the mids. Whatever bass you use (guitar or electronic) will fill out the lower frequencies.

I know it sounds counter-intuitive, but possibly cut back the amount of gain slightly, and pick harder instead.

The straight strums sound really good but when you start doing riffs / chord changes it just falls apart. A good start though. If you nail it right just once and duplicate it in those fills it could be an easy fix.
