Back from an extremely longer-than-I-expected Hiatus. This time I have an IDM song, Inspired by the likes of Aphex Twin and Squarepusher

Percs hate me

I love IDM, and unique drum lines :3

I would have started the pads from the beginning though; at the moment it sounds so empty. I would have just the pads and slowly bring the drums in through the automation of a low pass filter. I would also give more presence to the main kick drum because your sample is pretty hollow (fine for an axillary drum but...)

One of my favorite IDM artists is Dadub. They tend to use pads as the core of their songs so perhaps I'm biased lol. But good job, it really comes together at the end.

I am completely unfamiliar with IDM, so I don't know how I would give feedback, but I did enjoy listening to this :3

Your first 3 seconds are incredibly entertaining, great way to kick the song off.

I feel like this song has a lot of cool musical ideas, but could stand to be trimmed down a bit. I would cut the amount of time the individual sections spend repeating and make it a bit more concise, to keep things interesting (like from 35 to 1:07 or 2:28 to 3:33), because personally, I got slightly board, waiting for the next section to start, but maybe that's just me, and IDM is supposed to be more "backgroundy" and not terribly attention-grabbing, idk I don't listen to it a whole lot.
I definitely enjoyed it though, I'd just tighten it up a bit.

Thanks for the feedback everyone ^^

I honestly had in mind a simple, repetetive, african drum-style song. I honestly didn't even think the pads were going to be placed inside of the song in the first place. I put a pad progression that took me a few minutes to make, something that wouldn't catch the eye of a big-time IDM kind. I really just wanted to see how much percs I could fit with one song, and to see if I can make several (almost 14 tracks-worth) of drum meld together

You certainly can. The percussion in this is amazing! The whole thing is, really. I feel like it needs more of a musical (cf. percussive) component earlier in the song, eg. a few well-placed bass notes, that leads into the introduction of the pad. That's my only suggestion. Great stuff!

Fully agreeing to this. The song itself is great, and it's okay that it started with drums only (gives it a Tribal Techno feel even), but I advise you to add a few small sounds to the build-up. Just a few small ones. Nothing big or special.

That aside, I'll tell you that I'm not a fan of IDM (at all), and surely don't know much of it, but I want you to know that this is very good ;)
