Song Of Storms

Postby Overkillius » 01 Jul 2011 20:35

While I was writing a song in Finale as a speed composition about a month ago, I decided to mess around on the keyboard to hopefully invoke an idea to continue. I played Song of Storms and a big storm started up right afterwards. The power went out and at first I was FREACKIN' AMAZED, then, I realized I hadn't saved the song I was working on. Once the power came on, I had to first write a song to honor the song that was lost... it wasn't a particularly good song or anything... but I had to do it. Then I knew what I had to do next. I had to arrange song of storms... I definitely think in it's current state, it can be improved, but I like it. Hope you guys enjoy it. :]

Ha, nice modulation about halfway through! I like it!
I once did an arrangement for the Song of Storms, but for Brass Ensemble...needless to say, it sounded very different!
The Bonus song was really nice too!!!

Thanks! the bonus song is also 100% chords... no non-chord tones... I just couldn't do it any other way it seemed.

You make that sound like it's a bad thing. It works well as it is! :)

VERY impressed. You have a good ear for this sort of thing.
What sound library are you using for Song for a Song? Those woodwinds sounded nice.

Thanks. That means a lot to me.

I am kind of ignorant when it comes to sound tech... it is just the default sounds for Finale 2011.
