Vanquishing the Ursa - Background Music Cover

This little baby is all but done, except for the mastering and maybe a little mixing. It's still not quite how I envision it should be, so any critiques at all--big or small--would be greatly appreciated.

Seriously, tear right into this baby. Any problems with dynamics or instrumentation or anything really. If it pops into your head please share it with me.

Oh, and here's the bit that it's based on. Feel free to compare and contrast the two for accuracy.

I've never actually heard this piece on its own. Nice choice of material.
I personally find the snares at 1:37 a bit too loud, especially for the ensemble genre.
And again at 1:51, I find myself focusing mostly on the snares... perhaps the hits could be varied dynamically?
