My sister asked me to arrange the processional music for her wedding. I'll get back to the pony stuff soon. It's been a while since I last picked up Finale.

I am currently working on a mash-up that will be posted on EQbeats sometime soon. It consists of Tremil's Remix of Awoken and The Eternal Insomniac's Pwn 'N' Stuff instrumental. I believe it will be finished within the month of April.

Good thing that "working" has got such a broad definition...

A few of my songs, mainly covers, reside only in my head currently. Most of them exist as still unfinished LilyPond sheet music, I keep working on it whenever I feel like it or whenever I've got another idea for these songs. The lyrics are often the toughest part, especially filling the verses with life. These songs span a broad range of genres or subgenres not touched by brony musicians yet, probably mostly because of their age.

Only one song I've actually partly played so far, and that's a cover version of a song from the show (I'm not getting too specific now) in a style that carries it back to the 70s.

A few months ago, I released a 10 song EP. However, the software I used was Mixcraft, and the exported songs had a quality I just wasn't too happy with. With that being said, I'm remastering the EP in GarageBand so it will have better quality. (I also might add new songs to the remastered EP.)

Saw the last post in this thread and realised I haven't made a single wub in like... months...
So I made a few. Then I put them in a melody ish thing and this was made:
https://soundcloud.com/flaofei/first-good-wubs-ever
Honestly, I didn't know I had it in me :I
Spoiler How, if anyone wanna know:
Did da wubs in Sytrus and added a bunch of distortion and stuff to that. It's basically a sub modulating a saw 2 octaves up. Both sub and saw have temposynced volume lfos, tho the sub only has half the lfo amplitude of the saw lfo. Copied the sytrus channel and equalised it without the distortion, and I had the 2nd wub. Then sampled the first wub and played that through granular synthesis, and that's the third wub... Then added a sub to the 2 later wobz
Then also 2 high pitch synths, one just sinewave with chords and stuff, and one square with a lfo on a hp filter, a bit crush, just a crunchy sound.

eery wrote:Sounds like the sounds are a bit out of key with eachother. When you make music that like bops from one sound to another, its often better to just play mostly the same note over and over. you're changing the sound, so the listeners need something to connect the previous note to the current one. That goes for sound design too, try to have more sounds that have less harmonic (Think more triangle wave rather than like a saw wave), so it makes up for the rich ones, that will sound more noisy.

it was in key, but i will try the stuff you suggested thanks.

Just gotta fiddle with the de-esser on the vocals and mix it a bit and should be all good.

Proud to say that I've got a song more than 50% completed for the first time. Can't say much about it before its release, though (if that ever comes which I hope). It'll probably sound like no brony song before it. Just so much: Imagine Harold Faltermeyer and Dean Pitchford writing brony music when G1 was still new and when I started to play music — which was 30 years ago.

A couple of parts are still missing in the arrangement, the lyrics aren't 100% complete yet, and the hardest part will be the vocals, also because I have to record them in our band rehearsal room one hour away from here.

Yoi? lol. anyway. I think the lyrics on that one one are good. I'm working on...less chaos. I work on projects when I get time though. Sometimes the inspiration doesn't come until every bit of everything else is done, and then... I have 20 minutes to blurt out whatever's been in my head, and then back to work. You knwo what I'm sayin' I don't haveto explain this to none of yous. Anyway...Yeah that's the jist of it. I think maybe I'm so chaotic because I feel conflicted in certain situations so my music is emoting it, but then again wouldn't I use it to balance me? I guess that shows the flaw it doesn't always guarantee balance. (Babbling from this point) I guess the single note of clarity from hearing our own blood stream... A perfect 'A they say, staring into bliss and heartache simultaneously as we ponder concepts that cannot be described in words. I dare not say the issue, yet speak it aloof, and aloud for all around to hear, I come as I go, I'm on time and late, but I feel no paradox between right and wrong. No I will not go there... not again. Oh God. Eh, I'm not to good at lyrics. I'm actually glad I found there is some people into to music and stuff...I'll leave it there.

Well, after having finished Music Is Magic (which took waaaaay to long actually...) I started working on... Music Is Magic 2. What a surprise^^

I always had planned Music Is Magic as an orchestral medley of all MLP songs from the first two seasons. Right after the Season 2 finale I elaborated an order in which I wanted the songs to appear in it. However, when Season 3 started, Music Is Magic still wasn't done, so I had to decide if I wanted to finish it the way I had planned or add Season 3 as well. Since the latter would have meant that I would not have been able to work on MIM until the end of S3, I decided to start Music Is Magic 2 once MIM (1) was done.
I happened to finish MIM two weeks before the end of Season 4 (after about 2 1/2 years...) and got on with MIM2 right after the finale. And that basically is what I am working on.

Besides MIM2 I also planned new pieces for two stories I am (more or less) writing, one of them is based on MLP and already has four pieces. (I can't find my discography thread any more... Guess I'll have to make a new one.)

I'm still in the sound design/sound selection stage of my remix for the remix wars. Every time I sit down to make something electronic I realize how much I hate sound design. I wonder if it would be less grueling if I had monitors instead of headphones.
