The "What Are You All Working On?" Thread

Postby Makkon » 30 Dec 2011 22:57

This thread is dedicated to posting works in progress or little ditties/experiments that you're interested in sharing, but that you don't think deserves it's own thread yet. This thread is intended to be long standing.

Post away!

I'll start us off!

Some general WIPs that I may or may not continue.

Testing some sound for MLP Fiends from Dream Valley, probably a zecora theme.

Something I've been working on lately. It's loosely based on nightcore music. I noticed a lot of them had pretty much the same or similar note progression so I tried it out. I'm liking the results so far.

Still need to add leads and mix the guitar here:

Sure. Here's a song I'm working on for a collab project with Party Grunt. It's suppose to be an extension to "Rapid Eye Movement" by Two Steps From Hell. The original can be found here.

http://soundcloud.com/starsinautumn/rapid-pony-movement-wip

It's suppose to deviate from the original at about 30 seconds and get more epic. There's some changes to make still, but this is what I've done so far.

Making a remix of MrPickle's infamous song. I need to add some wubs and the verses (which are really hard to sync...) later.

- Just completed a [still] vocal-less, ponified cover of one of my favourite dance hits from the last decade.
- Considering starting on the second ponified cover I've been thinking about since mid-December.
- Making some music for my favourite fanfic.

I've never felt so productive. :D

I'm about to formally start working on a Photo Finish song (I've just had the idea and bits of lyrics in my mind for a while). Right now I'm planning to have me sing-rapping about being the queen of the fashion scene, or something along those lines, a more serious attempt at complextro, heavy guitars and slightly doomy chords, and then throw in the Photo Finish theme that plays throughout Green Isn't Your Color out of nowhere. And with any luck, I'll get someone to play an awesome guitar solo in between.

... yeah, let's see how that turns out. :P

Alright I have no WIPs to show you but I'm working on
A Rainbow Dash DnB song
A Twilight DnB song with vocals by Mandopony (hopefully)
A DnB remix of Trixie's Good Side in collaboration with Neu KatalYst
Possibly a mashup between So Many Wonders and Pure Imagination (this one)

I was having a conversation with a friend about how music is almost always made up of four chords, so I made this little five chord song to rebel against the man. It's my first song I've ever made though, so I don't really know what to do with it now.

It's been a looooong time since I've done anything in the brony music community, but here's a little something new I'm working on (I tried my hoof at some DnB). It's not pony related, but it's a WIP, so I think this is the right thread...
In any case, I've grown unsure about how good or bad this track is so far, so I'm looking for any cc that could give me a clue into what other people think of it.
Warning: Soundcloud doesn't like me and put in a bunch of aliasing D: (maybe it'll sound better on iTunes)
Edit:: idk why, but the quality is much much better once downloaded

DAW:: FL Studio 10
genres: anything really, but trying to focus on DnB
