New lunar regime (New lunar republic piano cover)

Back again, this time with a remix of For the new lunar republic. At the very least, I added reverb to the piano this time and it seemed to help.

First off, a brief word of advice: there is an option to embed YouTube videos on this site. It's up there with all the other text options like bold, italic, and url!

Second, I like the basic simplicity of what you tried to do here: take a popular and somewhat over-remixed song and bring out the simple beauty of the piece. A very unique approach! But that piano soundfont you used doesn't sound particularly good to me... I would definitely look into getting something a little bit better.

Perhaps, though, it sounds unnatural because, and this might be my ears deceiving me, all the notes are being hit at the same volume. Maybe if you went into your DAW and altered the velocity of the notes so that some were softer and others were louder, it would help a great deal in making the piano sound more natural and expressive. I don't know what DAW you use, but odds are you can find someone around here who uses the same thing and can help you with that.

Or maybe I'm just being picky. Great idea, though, for sure, and not a bad sounding remix by any means!

I used FL studio 10, FL keys. And yes, they are all the same volume. I probably should have figured that one out on my own.
Thanks for the feedback!

It sounds unnatural for some reasons, IMHO:

legato on unisons (or no silence between notes of the same pitch) is impossible while using any real instrument.
2.) all the notes are of the same velocity. It's not a problem when making electronic music, because synths are not usually made to sound like real instruments, but when making something based on a real piano, you'd surely want to keep some human factor to it. the best thing you could do is, to learn playing this song on piano, and keep all the original velocities, and only quantize bigger mistakes.

The Idea was great, good enough to make me listen three times in a row, and do want a download link.

If you don't have a keyboard/piano, mess with velocities, maybe add a groove if fl studio supports groove

sounds good but it does lack a little variety. what was said before me i think should help. Makein' the velocity should bring it out more.
