Clopstep - More Wubs N' Ponies (Hour+ Long Mashup)

Postby Triple_B » 27 Nov 2011 03:38

Nervously posting this here, even though the rules for this board didn't mention anything of this sort, I felt this was the most appropriate place.

This is a mix I did this evening, (Finished about 20 minutes ago) over Livestream, for a total of one other person in celebration of my birthday! Which is actually Monday. *Flutteryay~*

Posting this here because even though numerous pony songs where played in this one; I had a more majority of 'regular' artists; Skrillex, Datsik, Excision, Bassnectar, Flux Pavillion, and a few random people off of the UKF Dubstep channel on YouTube.... I just realized when I made this playlist I forgot Voodoopony... Fuck; how could I forget that?!

Livestream Embed, which is EXTREMELY EXTREMELY EXTREMELY low quality, at least through my headphones; http://livestre.am/19mtb

These both sound a million times better than that video does, plus they don't have the minute and a half-ish of typing and stopping the track to remember recording in the beginning;

For a preview, see YouTube; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ctsze8pwNxc

Aaaand for a download for the entire thing, see here; http://www.megaupload.com/?d=ZYTV3EUM

Whole thing was done at 140 BPM, (Except for a few songs toward the end) in Virtual DJ.

Think I only had one actual mistake and it was a plugin failure, not really my fault.... I don't know though.

Um, yeah... Enjoy, I guess... Constructive criticism... please?

Oh yeah; and absolutely no credit to me for any of the music compiled into this mix, all of it belongs to it's respective author(s)!
10/15/2014 - I finally return to ponies? Maybe.

Actually it was more like 10/12/2015

My current SoundCloud, pony & non-pony things found here.

I have 4 EP's under this alias!

Somepony talk to me, I are the lonelies. :c

Unfortunately, I don't have time to listen to a one hour mix, but the parts that I went through were pretty good, though some transitions were extremely awkward. For example, the transition from Tombstone to Datsik.

A good DJ software I recommend to anyone is Traktor. So many features and effects, and it's 10x better than VirtualDJ.

Also, it's pretty much essential to get MixedInKey, cause I think some of your beatmatching was offkey. ;)

Don't worry about being in the wrong section. If you are, which I doubt, someone can just move your topic to the right place.

OH, and happy birthday!

Thank you for the happy birthday; I didn't get very many.

Yar-harred Traktor, played with it, didn't like it. I have the full version of VDJ, with hundreds of effects available for download at leisure, and I'm already familiar with the software, whereas with Traktor I couldn't even find half of the things that are plain as day with VDJ, think I'll stick with it. I realize it wasn't apparent that I have those effects, but that is because I typically use them minimally, and sparingly, only when I know they'll sound good and flux in seamlessly; plus I've been told by several professionals that too many effects only agitate a crowd, which isn't something anypony wants to do.

& Yarrgh, matey. MixedInKey be evadin' me on the high-seas! Wikipedia told me however, 'at it be quite the useful tool, yarr, though I'm not sure if it be compatible with VDJ.... Scurvy!

And I just took the time to check; Traktor isn't compatible with my hardware anyway.

Though, in regards to the mix itself; the matching is equal down to the hundredth's place in BPM, ( xxx.xx ) however some where intentionally different, namely the last three songs, where it jumped from 140 BPM, to 100, then back to 120 for the Equestrian anthem. And I will never again mix that particular Datsik song and that LivingTombstone song together; they don't really sound very good with each other, didn't really notice until I'd listened to the mix a couple times.
