Another bump/reminder that this exists, because it's been a while. Yes, this is still happening!

We're coming up on the homestretch here, guys. I understand that you guys are busy, especially with school starting - I am too! - but when you receive your part please try to be speedy about it. Your response does not need to be a masterpiece - a short 45-60 second doodle is fine as long as it gets your point across.

Yeah, due to real life and my poor organization skills, this kind of slowed to a halt for the past month or so. I'm setting a deadline for anyone who's left - which is something I should have done from the beginning, but didn't want to do after we started since it's not exactly fair to the people who now don't have the option to take their time - so hopefully we should be FINALLY finishing up with this within the next 2-3 weeks. Hopefully.

That was really neat! Do you have any plans for possibly making some sort of album, maybe? Or was it just sort of a game that will stay on the forum?

I hadn't really intended on making this anything more than a fun little community event for kicks, just to see what would happen. I almost feel like releasing it publicly elsewhere would cause it to lose that small-town charm!

Plus, due to the nature of the experiment where it's encouraged to sacrifice some quality for speed/brevity in order to ideally keep the game moving along, I wouldn't expect everyone to have put their best foot forward the same way they would have on an album-type event. That's not to say there weren't phenomenal tracks that could very well be featured on an album, because there totally were! But I don't think everyone would feel that they submitted their absolute best work (at the very least, I didn't, heh), which would be expected on an album.

I am in no condition to analyse this right now, but it feels like group 1 kept the melody more similar between tracks, where as group 2 changed lots more... Again, I'm to tired to analyse...

I honestly enjoyed this so very much. It's a shame it took so long. I decided that I should follow the lead melody of the previous song (Song I was given), which was Exo's, in which I did. I also felt it was key that I also insert my own melody/feel to that piece, however, transitioning it into my own but still holding a part of the previous song. It seems as our group drifted off from the initial idea I figured we'd go with.

@FLAOFEI: Yeah, group 2 changed the melody a bunch but generally kept a dancey feel right up until Miles. Group 1 switched up the style a lot more. Both very cool! It's really neat to see how both groups varied it up about the same but in totally different ways.

You should totally do a second one at some point because this was cool and there were people who wanted to but missed it.

I'm considering it.

If I did it again I would have the one-week deadline rule from the start, and with classes starting up again and my incredibly inconsistent work schedule I'm not sure if I'd be able to keep up with it. Maybe in a month or two when things calm down a bit.
