Deadline is June 1st I believe,

Here's my WIP at the moment. My only concern right now is it might not be hard enough, but it's still young and has room to grow. Critiques?

I don't know why everyone is trying to put out a Balloon Party Track so early. You have until June 1st, but reasonably the end of the April/early May is a good deadline.

But, eh, that's my opinion. I honestly don't think I'm doing Balloon Party, either.

I were planning on doing 2 remixes... but I'm no longer sure if I can manage to come around the second one due to school :/
I don't have time for fancy signatures.

honestly I had no idea the deadline was THAT far back. The Bronycon is June 30th. Is that enough time to assist anyone? As its February and there are SO many entries coming I'm not sure why a slightly moved up deadline would be a bad thing (especially since many people are jumping on this). Just throwing that out there.

a good start. if not hard enough you can always octave lower it to make it a little darker.

I personally feel the drums and bass could be more pronounced. Since I don't know that much about the dubstep genre, I can't help you out too much. When in doubt, speed it up a little.

Hard is a subjective term. My personal opinion is that it's a step in the right direction towards that and it does sound good, but I don't find it that hard at all. Around the 1:00 and 4:53 marks, you have transitions from a more techno sound to dubstep. Right around those sections would be a perfect place to insert a much heavier bassline and louder drums, perhaps with some distortion to give it the right amount of "kick".
Here's a link that should explain sort of what I mean; check the following song's transitions at 0:43, 3:18 and 3:40: that's what I'm referring to.

Kudos.

It was never explicitly a requirement. I don't see how restricting entry to having one medium of communication on the internet - of all things - would make any sense.

So no?

This is the song I'm working on for Balloon Party still a WIP so things might and will change.

This is just my opinion, but add some automation or a stepper or something to your bass to change up the LFO speed (aka the speed of le wubs). There is some tuts on youtube to show you how.

Of course, I've never made a dubstep track before (and therefore do not know the mechanics of producing it too well), so take the opinion of someone who has over mine.

I'm thinking I may as well do this and would like to find someone else who has FL Studio 10 to collab with. Because why the hell not.

Edit: Nevermind.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm currently looking into changing the LFO speed and from what I've gotten so far I do think the track sounds more intresting and less repetitive.

Also, has anyone entertained the idea of sending this album to Knife Party once it's done?

Yeah, we spontaneously generate. Like, y'know, made from Fluttershy squees, youtube pony songs, and the occasional dash of Princess Luna. Cuz she's awesome (Shameless favorite pony plug is shameless).

But yeah. I think like a dozen new people showed up at once last weekend (including myself).
