P@D: Starlit Flames [50 Track Album Out Now!]

Hey guys,

In the past Ponies at Dawn have released 5 albums full of awesome music, and we’re looking forward to extending that to a 6th album. We’re proud to announce that we’re opening for submissions for our 6th album - Starlit Flames.

We broke new ground earlier this year with our 5th album Celestial Planes, which was biggest album yet featuring a massive 42 tracks from artists big and small. It was by far our most successful venture yet, raising over $1000 from optional donations which went towards the artists who made it onto the album, and we hope that with your help we can keep the momentum going with another epic album.

As with last time, all the money made by the album from donations on BandCamp will go towards the artists who make it onto the album, as thanks for the hard work put in to get on. As always, the album will be under the pay what you want model so that those who don’t wish to pay for it don’t have to.

Submissions form: https://goo.gl/YYYHPi

Submissions due: September 21st (contact us if you need a few days extension)

For more information, make sure to check out our information document which has an FAQ included: https://goo.gl/Ea4d8l

We have a Skype group for general discussion as well as a second group specifically for talking about music and providing feedback to each other. To be added to one or both of these Skype groups just send a Skype contact request to alexander.ashenden and make sure to include something about wanting to join the group in your contact request.

BandCamp with our past releases: http://poniesatdawn.bandcamp.com/

Thanks, The Ponies at Dawn Team (Arofire, Camsy, ExplodingPonyToast, TheTimberWolffe)

One month left until submissions are due! We're really starting to get into gear now and most of the submissions so far are quite exciting. :D Can't wait to hear what else gets submitted. :3

On a side note, we now also have a soundcloud account for posting up previews of previous albums, and reposting music from those who are/have been involved with us in the past, so feel free to go follow that here: https://soundcloud.com/ponies-at-dawn :)

Dumb question: Is harsh noise going too far? If so I can try something else... I guess...
HARSH NOISE BRONY WOOOO LOOK AT HOW LOUD I CAN BE

But sometimes in a pinch I can do ambient noise or whatever I guess...

In general we like to be accepting of most genres, however noise (and harsh noise in particular) are probably a little bit too out there for this album, which we want to be able to be listened to and enjoyed by a majority of people, many of whom would probably not enjoy the flow of the album being, in their minds, interrupted by something like that. That being said you're obviously welcome to submit whatever you'd like, but something like harsh noise probably wouldn't get through judging. I hope you understand. :)

And for everybody else, just 3 weeks left until the due date! I hope it's going well for you all and as always I'm here for feedback or anything else you might need. ^_^

Just a reminder that there's a tiny bit more than a week until submissions are due! As always I'm available for feedback if anybody needs, and I look forward to everybody's finished products. :D Is shaping up very well from what I've heard so far, so hopefully it'll all fall into place as well as last time did. ^_^

Well, today's the day (in Australia at least)! Thanks to everybody who's submitted already, and if you still want to submit we'll 100% judge anything submitted by Wednesday. The album will be coming out on the first or second week of October, and it will be big! Man I'm excited, I hope you all are too. :D I'll post here when we have a finalised list of tracks which should hopefully not take more than a week to organise.

Hey guys, we've finished judging, and we've come up with a list of tracks that made it onto the album.

It's just alphabetical order by artist atm, we're still working on track order.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... edit#gid=0

Congrats to everybody who made it, and thanks to everybody who submitted either way. ^^ There were so many good tracks, so not getting in definitely didn't mean a bad entry!

I'm really grateful to everybody who put their time into this, on the album or not. We had 119 entries so there were a lot of songs we couldn't put on even though I really liked a lot of them. We're onto the mastering process now, and the album will probably be released sometime next week. I'll make sure to update here when we finalise the release date as well as the album art (which is practically done).

I'll make sure to get people their feedback at some point, but please have patience if it takes a while as there's a lot of other things happening too. :)
