Re: PINKAMENA PARTY [HARDCORE ALBUM PROJECT]

The point is it was meant to be /HARD/ and it wasn't. The original post hyped it up as an album that was meant to be balls to the wall hard, but to real hardcore fans, it's a total joke.

It's not as if the MLP music community doesn't have a large enough hardcore fandom, and it's not as if a lot of truely hardcore tracks wern't submitted. It's just that none of them were included, because in our humble opinion, the people judging it had no real idea what constitutes hardcore. The requirement of no profanity or cussing should have been a good forewarning of that, to be honest. :V

Is that "no metal" thing official? If so, I'm out.

PhillyPu wrote:Aw, Balloon Party didn't have any Baroque-step Death Nu Folk...

OH I KNOW I'LL CREATE A NEW PARTY JUST FOR THAT

GAISE GAISE GAISE LET'S MAKE BAROQUE-STEP DEATH NU FOLK PARTY JUST FOR PEOPLE WHO MAKE BAROQUE-STEP DEATH NU FOLK MUSIC!!!

(Seriously though, I understand that hardstyle wasn't featured in Balloon Party, but must you also exclude other genres when you made Pinkamena Party? There wasn't enough alt. rock, or chiptune, or power metal, or opera in my opinion. But that's just the way it is)

Hardstyle is actually discouraged, it's mostly hardcore, speedcore, terror, etc. etc. etc...

And seriously, if people want to make a Hardcore EDM album, let them. :/ If you don't agree with it, just go start up your own... Like you said.

What's so wrong about having an album with the same kind of music on it?

EDIT: Also, it occurs to me that you guys often have a different idea of what 'Hardcore' means than I have... In this case 'hardcore' means the following:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hardcore_techno

Except that the title of that Wiki article is horrible ('Techno'...). :|

For those unclear about what is meant with 'hardcore' in this case, here have a few examples:

Industrial Hardcore (I think?):

Mainstream Hardcore:

Raw Hardstyle:

Euphoric/Melodic Hardstyle:

Speedcore:

Correct me if I'm wrong about the Industrial one.

EDIT: ... What's 'Djentstep'? o.o

Djentstep= Dubstep + Djent/Progressive Metal + other random genres (depending on what sound you want)

It may be a bit oldschool now, but let's get some examples of breakbeat hardcore, happy hardocore and bouncy techno too :)

Breakbeat Hardcore

Happy Hardcore

Bouncy Techno

And finally some freetekno, since this stuff kicks major ass but is pratically unheard of outside of europe, this channel has a very extensive selection of the stuff, hundreds of multi hour sets.

Freetekno

That breakbeat hardcore you linked sounds like oldschool drum n bass to me, to be honest? :P

It is, breakbeat hardcore evolved into early drum & bass. That doesn't mean you have to make your stuff sound old but hardcore can be done in a modern method. At least drum & bass is closer to hardcore than a lot of wubstep.

Yeah there's a lot of crossover between the two genres, since jungle grew directly out of breakbeat hardcore. Here, have something a little less hard, but a bit purer in terms of breakbeat hardcorness.

Oh, nice!

I don't know if that would be accepted for this hardcore album though... Since the premise is pretty much BASS, NOISE, DISTORTED KICKS AND EARRAPE!!!1 xD

PINKAMENA PARTY IS GOING TO SKIN YOUR EARDRUMS ALIVE

Circuitfry wrote:Pfft, why not just call it "Hard Party" if you don't feel Balloon Party was hard.

Because Pinkamena Party sounds waaaaaaay cooler?

*gives Circuitfry a cupcake*

We just need a quick taste test, honest.

Can we make two entries? I want to write a song about clopping to that Blinkie Pie tentacle flash animation, and a song about raping Applebloom.
