Long story short, pretty much. I do want to have an introduction though, which leads me to more big text:

I want a voice intro at the beginning of the teaser. If anyone is willing to do this, let me know. We can all write a script.

A discussion on accepting/rejecting donations occurred in Skype
we were discussing distribution (ZIP via MediaFire, Bandcamp, ZIP via Dropbox, etc) and Bandcamp was mentioned, as well as the "free/pay what you want with no minimum".

And then possible donations were mentioned. If this were to happen, where do the donations go?

Ideas on distribution and donation stuff please

I would say charity, but I like the idea of this going towards us. The point of the album is that we're all lesser knowns, and sometimes that translates into beginners, which translates into not having much equipment. I don't know about you guys, but I could use money for equipment (which is all I would spend it on).

I mean, sure, charity is great, it's going to someone who needs it, but I'm with kyoga, either way is fine.

and money for equipment would be grand, I'm broke and can't pay for anything, much less any musical hardware of any sort (including cheap earbuds/headphones)

if we go the keep-it-ourselves route, then I suggest one-album, one-account thing, bandcamp should label each transaction to Paypal, letting us know how much went into the donation bin and not from somewhere else/some other song on said bandcamp account, and how much each person will get (divide by 20?).

if we go the keep-it-ourselves route, then I suggest one-album, one-account thing, bandcamp should label each transaction to Paypal, letting us know how much went into the donation bin and not from somewhere else/some other song on said bandcamp account, and how much each person will get (divide by 20?).

One album on one account, money goes to a paypal account, divide by however many artists wind up being on it.

Honestly, I'm not even sure how a charity scenario would work.

Sorry guys, I know some of us could really use the money, but the way I see it, we have no idea how well this will take off, so the payoff could be very minimal. It's very likely that with it being split among the 20 of us, we'd only get enough to buy ourselves lunch at Taco Bell one day.

Now donating the proceeds to charity on the other hand means the charity might at least get a decent amount since the earnings aren't being divided.

Releasing free songs is definitely better if you want to get known, just look at knife party electrode and so on.
I think you'd actually earn on releasing it free if you're planning on releasing an ep/singles later on.

So much agreement!
Personally, I would feel bad making money off of this, because I'm really only participating for the fun of it, and it feels a bit... wrong? to profit off of something that's meant to be a way to share with/be involved in the brony community.

On a completely unrelated note, the only thing I have left to track is bass, and apparently my bass' output jack is blown out D:
So my WIP either won't have bass, or it'll be a terrible bass voice from my keyboard.
