Damn! I still can't come up with anything. Already trashed one project.

Luckily I have at least a dozen of freeware synths with some insane distorted sounds.
Just gotta use some time to pick a melody.

I really need to find a job to finance NI Massive.

I know your feel. Melodies are always my biggest issue

Haven't been working on this one for very long, so I know it needs a lot more attention, but just to get an idea as to how this might fly, how do you guys think this would work as a submission if I got someone to rap over it?

I like the melody and the structure, but the dubby sections could use a bit more bass - they don't sound fat enough. And I myself might try bringing the snare up a bit, but that's just me.

But this does have a lot of potential, methinks.

I'm so in!

(It's RainproDash from Youtube. I did the Pinkie's Sweet Smile song. Circuitfry liked it.)

Anyway, something hard? Well, I think I know what I'm gonna do. A symphonic death/thrash metal song with some death electro elements.

To be completely honest it takes years to get good at production, its likely you wont be able to finish a song for the album's release, that doesn't mean you can't try. Check out the technique sub-forum on how to get started.

Watch the video they posted and they will tell you the best options for a genre, its entirely up to you on what to make.

I began a track a few months ago but never got around to finishing it. Am I able to finish it and submit it as my entry? I've shared the WIP but only a sample of it.

Well, this seems as good excuse as any for me to finally figure out Ableton. ^.^ I haven't written anything for a while because I couldn't figure out Ableton and Finale (the program I use) makes my songs sound so midi. :P I'm on it!

I don't have any recording equipment, so I can't plug my actual guitar in, but I do have a program called Guitar Pro, which has EXCELLENT sounds. So I'll be using both Guitar Pro and Garage Band (or Logic) to make my song. Symphonic death/thrash with electronic elements. It's gonna be pretty sweet.

Had another go at mixing this. I'm still not completely happy with it, but it's slightly better.

Original Post wrote:2. You guys have fun I'm just a sad orchestra composer that doesn't make techno--
SHUT IT. We need orchestra composers too for awesome hardcore orchestra hits or even full compositions! You have to know how to make your instruments rock the crowd like us. This is a challenge to manipulate your composing style to work like and with the electronic music. Classical instruments can be just as effective as a bass cannon. I think our classical musicians have proven that and can do it again.

Alright let's make some hot tracks! (And don't forget about the charity album for Bronies For Good, either!)
DAW: Mixcraft 6
