No wonder he left. You guys were absolute dicks to him. This web site wasn't at all what it seemed. All of you are just assholes. Fuck everyone here. You're just like every other human being: completely unlikeable.

Okay, I went full misanthrope mode here. Don't listen to me, I sometimes say things I don't mean.
But seriously, guys. Why were you bullying Partyraw?

Bro... we weren't dicks to him for no reason. He put no effort at all into his threads and posts, then got butthurt when we told him to try. It could have gone over better but he got a bit unlucky with the amount of attention he got at the time.

Srs mode: I don't want you to leave, I think that both you and MLR can benefit from you being here, as cheesey as that sounds. When I said I hope you don't become the new Partyraw, it was because I meant that I don't want you to become that guy that everyone here hated on for little reason, cuz of something stupid. Also don't be so quick to make judgments; MLR is a pretty damn nice community when you get to know us, don't judge everyone as assholes. There are some very nice people here, we don't (usually) hate without reason. Partyraw just got unlucky with some unecessary attention brought to a few threads of his.

So if we can all just put this behind us and get back to talking about music, Makkon will not have to drop the threadlockhammer, please

Some of the recently said words might get you a lot of attention. Good job! Swearing and insults definitely won't get you anywhere here.

Thanks.

I'm actually going through my Vengeance libraries as we speak. I found a kick drum similar to the one in Strobe in the minimal house pack. So I'm going to use that (and maybe layer it with a lowpassed kick to get a better bass tone to it).

You know, deadmau5 has a sample pack out there somewhere, I have it. It's got his ghosts n stuff kick and some other nice kicks, as well as a few vocal samples and like 1 kick from Vengeance electro pack, you should check it out.

I made a metric fuckton of chords, it's what I do when I'm not feeling inspiration. I'm also really proud of some Madeon esque thing i've made, I'm not one for donning an ego but I really like the bass I made, it reminds of Justice.

Still have no idea what my entry will be, but I'm probably gonna do multiple entries.

I'm broke :( Can't get his pack, but I know which one you're talking about.

I'm not sure if I'm going to utilize house chords in my songs. I'm trying to make something that would do great at some kind of night club or something. Similar to some of the stuff on 4x4=12. I'm going to focus on making all of the stems of my song sound perfect. That way, it's just a matter of songwriting and arrangement later on. I will go back and make final touches to the mix after all of that, but I want my mix to be great before I write the song so that I can focus more on songwriting.

I know mixing is supposed to happen afterwards, but incomplete kicks and synths during songwriting get on my nerves.

I'M LATE BUT I DON'T CARE CUZ IM HARDCORE LIKE THAT
Anyway the pack is a great buy, definitely worth it IMO.

So hows dat house going?
I got a bunch of random ideas sketched into project files, like 5 of them.

I made some Strobe-esque thing, a minimalistic Superliminal kinda thing with a high picted wobble, and a fuckton of chords.

After a week or two of working on other projects, I finally have time to start on a track for this. In case my planned collab for this event doesn't work out, I made a little something:

http://soundcloud.com/epicallyawsm/very-wip-untitled-community/s-52rdn

I realize it's VERY repetitive, but I've only been working on it for a few hours and I have planned to space it out a little. All feedback is appreciated ^^

Aww man, I really wish I could make house music but I can't. Nine Volt, mind putting me on the judge list if you're still looking for some? :P

Well...meh I'll still give it a try. Probably will sound like crap so I wont post it up if that's the case. I'll stick to an original this time and for once not remix an MLP track. I have been getting some interesting vibs from Aloe and Lotus. Oh the two beautiful...err bed time now :3

Does 120 bpm still qualify?

Arg! Why is house music so difficult!? Anybody have any pointers? I feel as if I'll have to drop out if I don't produce anything soon.

That's more along the lines of a warmup house DJ, so yeah but for the sake of making it decently easy to mix, you should go for 128~130.

Anyway, I may end up making an electro house track. I wanted to do a more clubhouse track but goodness its so hard to make. Well its easy but what I'm going for is hard for me. Also, hope everyone here knows how to set up their tracks to make it DJ friendly. Its not impossiburu to mix without that, but it'll be some type of task for the poor DJ.

Anyway, back to the drawing board.

Define bassline. There is a sub bass (I want to avoid a gritty bass because I want it to be a sort of chill-track), but it follows the same melody as the synth plucks.

It doesn't sound like the bassline is very present. There need to be more frequencies, because right now it sounds very empty.
Also, the drums are kind of bad. The kick needs to be fuller, and it sounds like there's no snare.

I realize it's empty, but I have to disagree on the drums. Any lower frequencies on the kick would muddy the entire track (trust me, I've tried), and there IS no snare, it's a clap. Like I said, I'm trying to make it chill. Adding a loud snare wouldn't help with that.

The lower frequencies on the kick are fine. It needs more higher frequencies, though. How many different kicks did you layer? I usually go with 4-5 (or in my latest track, I did eight or something).
If you want a relaxed clap, you should go with a different sample (like that chill snap that deadmau5 and Avicii both use). I have a bunch of better clap samples than that that I could hook you up with. Let me know if you want any, and I'll PM you.
