considering I could load a vocal sample into Newtone and export the midi into piano roll, I wouldn't have much use for it.

I like the idea of it. However I can already see some possible flaws in it. For example, someone might have this awesome tune in their head but they may not have a good voice to replicate it with. Although as Fluff said it would be good for jotting down ideas. I for one will probably not use it, but that's just because I don't see a use for it in my production technique

The only real plus of this is the live aspect, and even then I kinda fail to see how it would be useful. Sure you could use your voice to trigger a synth or something, but it would still have you singing over it.

Ableton already has a audio to midi feature built in, and it looks like lots of other DAW's do too. For those of you concerned about the accuracy of these there's always melodyne, which I've never seen misrepresent notes in monophonic audio.

Honestly this seems a little gimmicky to me, although it only costs $25 dollars so it might be worth it to play around with.

Fair point. Logic Pro X has this too. But then again it's like companies making compressor plugins, most DAWs have them, the companies just make them and make there's seem better.
