FL Studio is frozen on me,

And I actually have something I like and want to save. Do I have any chance of saving it, or should I just close it and accept my loss?

(On a side note, hi all, I haven't been here in forever. If this is the wrong forum for this, please move it, I haven't really been here since before the changes.)

I think fl by default saves à backup every 15 minutes, what you can do is restart fl and then go to file>rever to last backup(or go into the backups folder and load manually).
Other than that I don't think there's a way =\

My FL only makes a backup of the old file when I overwrite the project file with a new save.

Has lead to many shrieks ;_;

I should see if I can change dem autosave options...

Set the backup funtcion to often and before risky operations. Sometimes the program freezes on me when trying to export, which is a bit of a pain...

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

I've never had problems with FL freezing on me.

Erm, yeah, there's an autosave feature that FL may or may not use depending on how you have it set up. If you go to the file settings under OPTIONS, there's a backup dropdown menu with various increments. The only problem with this is that I really don't know where the backup goes, or if it really just saves the file instead of creating an actual backup. If you already had this activated and had already saved the file at one point in time, it should be up to date. Otherwise, you're screwed, I'm pretty certain of that.

There is a backup folder thats with your program folder. Backtrack and see if its there. Occasionally I'll hav eit crash on me and won't play but am able to get a successful project save out of it still. Always try that.

Just a helpful recommendation too, always save your project file with incrementing names (and i use a brief description of what im changing on it). That way you can revert back or be aware when you change a project in case you run into errors or need to fix problems.

I have the backup setting on, and there doesn't appear to be a folder full of backed up files anywhere. However, with FL Studio 10, if the backup option was turned on (which I believe it started on), and you needed to open up the file from an earlier time, perhaps due to a crash or such, there was a file full of the backups located in the "Program Files (x86) > Image-Line > FL Studio 10 > Data" file path. I haven't been able to find anything similar with FL11 though.
