How to Halve or Double Time in Fl Studio?

Postby Freewave » 09 Sep 2013 09:41

I have a piano roll pattern that's 75 that's going into a projects that's 150. Now technically those are the same speed so they will sync up but since it came from 2 different projects and "technically" 2 different tempos. If i try to import the pattern it will be at twice the speed which i do not want. (if i went the other way it would be half the desired speed) I'd like to be able to halve or double the patten and not have to render and import.

Does anyone know how to do this in FL10 w/o manually moving the piano roll on each and every note?....

Um, it doesn't? I'm not sure what you're doing, but whenever I use my mouse wheel to scroll in and get a closer length adjustment, it doesn't disappear.

Hm, I just noticed that. I guess I never zoom in that far.

Just in case anyones wondering, in Logic you select transform while in the piano roll, and then chose half speed, or double speed. Logic has a bad habit of moving your midi to one side while you do this though, so its easier if you do the entire clip rather then just a part of it, since you can just move it back.

Path in DAW is:
Piano Roll -> Functions -> Transform -> Half speed or double speed

There are a whole bunch of other useful things on that menu, so check it out if you haven't
