http://www.e-phonic.com/downloads/lofi.zip)
CamelCrusher Great, easy-to-use distortion. It works really well on drums and a lot of other things, too.
endorphin One of the best free compressors. It's easy to use and pretty transparent. It also happens to be dual-band, so you get another degree of flexibility there.
Ambience Really good reverb plugin. It's known to be a bit on the CPU-intensive side, though.
VSTi's:
Arp Odyssey- a synth, that may at first struck you with it's nonsensical look, but it's the way people sounded 40 years ago, and while first five minutes may give you a headache, it's worth it, especially if you like Alien Phat Sounds
(

Oatmeal- A synth that's special feature is that you can shape the oscillators exactly the way you want, but keep in mind the inevitable (un)harmonics that come with this way of getting sound, and while it looks kinda grey, it might make quite colorful sounds (
http://www.kvraudio.com/get/2237.html)
Monomate- Feelin' Oldschool? have some oldschool sounds (
http://cdn.cloudfiles.mosso.com/c18701/ ... te_2_3.zip)

Cakewalk/rcg::audio z3ta+ and Z3TA+2: well known, very popular and one of the best all-round synths of all time, with more modulation possibilities than you'll never need. 6 LFO's and fully customizable 6-stage envelopes (+pitch and amp), (
