I am using my mouse as a MIDI Pad

Right so I spent a while today just messing around with ALS . And it was literally picking up every device into my computer ... Ok ... so my gaming mouse can be used if I map it right ? Surely .
Yes , it can!

My mouse is a Razer Naga with 12 off pad buttons each assignable !

It took me the best part of the day trying to operate both with music controls and PC controls during sessions , but I was wondering has anyone else done something similar ? Like a super cheap way not to buy any equipment except a mouse or other pad you might already have?

I would love to do something like this with a Wiimote and map each accelerometer to a MIDI CC. I haven't been able to find a reasonable solution that would work with a 64-bit DAW on Windows.

I haven't tried it yet, but I've been meaning to try hooking up my drawing tablet as an x/y pad. Using a xbox controller to launch clips would also be a ton of fun.

FL Studio has the one SynthMaker thing that can be used to do really goofy shit. Like, I could totally program it to pick up some Wiimotes and then as I wave them around while partying the lights will change direction and color with the motes. There's a plethora of things you can program to do all sorts of wacky shit with SynthMaker.

But yeah, what you've done is cool too.
