Well, I meant like one of those 16 channel mixer boards that have like a bunch of XLR connections, reference monitor connections and stuff, like this

if/when you get a soundcard do yourself a favor and dont spend 30 bucks. If you are going to bother with it, get something at least halfway decent. Not a *shudder* Soundblaster. Please.

As a quick question to people who know stuff about computers, the PSU I'm looking at has 6 x peripheral connectors, would that mean that I could hook up 6 case fans, or would I have to look at the number of chassis fan connectors on the motherboard to determine that?

You could get a fn controller to increase the number of fans.

Nah, I'm good. The case comes with one fan, and I'll probably get 3 more fans. The guy I know who's good with computers and is going to help me assemble it once I get all the parts said that the fans can connect to the motherboard's chassis fan connectors (it has 3 4-pin connections) and that any others should connect to the psu.

What brand of sound card would you recommend because every google search only returns sound blasters

Really? Which google are you using? https://www.google.com/search?q=music+p ... e&ie=UTF-8

first entry reccomends M-Audio, HT-Omega, and others. My friend has an M-Audio that he uses for recording vocals and guitar for his band. Seems to work well, but didnt have all the I/O channels he wanted. Seems like a USB interface is best from what I have read.

Well v.lossity, if you're going to get a soundcard so that you can record and stuff, you may as well go with an audio interface >_> Around the same pricing, the quality is really equivalent since humans can't really detect audio quality differences much higher than 96kHz... Or does your mic use a different connection than XLR? Since I'm assuming you have the mic right now, if it's a USB, just try to record with it without the soundcard. Obviously your motherboard has onboard audio, so you should be able to record...

Or am I wrong and you getting a soundcard would be better than you getting an audio interface?

Nah, it's fine bro. I need some time spent in this forum anyways, I pride myself in being the most active in the technique forum, which I'm probably not right now, but I'm trying to be, lol.

Hey guys, NCIX voided my order on the parts I ordered from there, because they "were not able to verify your address with the credit card issuing bank." Do you guys think it's because it was my name on the shipping address instead of my dad's, or because we didn't include our banks phone number thingy merjiggy that they request? I'm guessing the latter...
