This is the list of the stuff I use.
I'm an extremely low budget musician ok? D: I haz no money.
Also, my dad disapproves of me making music for some reason...
But anyway, here's my list of noobness.

Hardware
-An Apple Mac desktop thingy (which my whole family uses D:)
-Crappy school laptop with like, 99999 restrictions

Software
-GarageBand- Sequencing/DAW (It's underrated IMO)
-GarageBand Jampacks: Remix, Orchestra and Rhythm- Samples
-Audacity- Splicing and stuff
-Adobe Soundbooth- Exporting (Because GarageBand is really bad at exporting)
-Musescore- Quickly notating ideas (or making midis if I can't use my Mac)
-Mario Paint- Quickly notating ideas (I have no idea why)

Plugins
-Native Instruments Massive (Haven't used yet)
-Native Instruments FM8 (Haven't used yet)
-Native Instruments Absynth (Yep, you guessed, haven't used yet)
-Magical 8bit Plugin (If I ever decide to do some chiptuning...)

Instruments
Yamaha electric piano
Fender stratocaster electric guitar (Probably the only thing of decent value here)
Some random acoustic guitar
Yamaha flute
Yamaha alto saxophone

Uhh yeah... That's about it!

Reason 5 / Record 1.5 (Soon to be just Reason 6)
FL Studio 10
Adobe Audition 3.0
Pro Tools M-Powered Essentials (crappy little thing that I started my Recording classes with in Uni. No where near a real program compared to the others or the real version of Pro Tools.)

I... don't know a lot about other programs that NotACleverPony talked about in the first post... Nor what they do. >.< That's probably why I don't know how to do some of the awesome effects I hear in the music that this community makes.

I use Adobe for final Mastering. It's easy to use and I can pan stuff through out the song. I use Reason/Record more than FL Studio, but that's only because I haven't taken the time to learn FL Studio as much yet. Though, the Twilight's Insanity song that I was working on (but quit on releasing out due to Foozogz [sp] being of the same name and being quite out of my league to try to compete with) was done in FL Studio 10 and I'm quite proud of what I did and will do... just not release. >.>;; For the Flutterwonder remix I did, I used Reason/Record and Adobe. Most of the effects were done in Reason/Record while the panning of the piano, fade-ins, and dB boosts and cuts were done in Audition 3.0. (I turned each track in Reason/Record into a separate .wav audio file and imported them into Audition, including separate kick, snare, cymbal, and tom tracks.)

This looks fun... um:

Hardware:
Com-pyoo-tor = 2.6ghz core i7
laap-tahp = AMD 2.5ghz Athlon? I think... (it's the one that fl studio works on since I have strange hardware on compy)
keys = Yamaha PSR8000, korg nanokey
controllers = Korg nano-control, -pad
Guitars = electric acoustic Epiphone, 12 string yamaha, electric Palmer hollow body(HH), Kaman (pretty Japanese guitbox) solid body(SSH), rp350 guitar effects.
tinflute, bamboo flute, didgeridoo, tamborine, shaker... lol
Stylophone (the new small kind... wish I could get a good deal on the bigger model)
Circuitbent = talking teacher, speak&math
Coffee Mug - usually with coffee in it...
Cheap Philips speakers, that make bad monitors... :(

Software:
Reason 6 (the main tool, been a user since Reason 4)
FL studio - I like to use it for a VST client when it isn't helping windows make BsoD...
Modplug Tracker - (I started as a tracker way back when, also a VST Client)
FamiTracker - for nes sounds
Audacity
ReCycle
Some custom software... that works, ok... I'm not exactly the best coder. (I'm a musician, Jim, not a codemonkey!)

VST: um, many of them? At least most of the ones you guys usually use. Favorites being Crystal, and dblue Glitch but truth is I don't use much VST... I find what I need in Reason most of the time.

I suppose I'll add mine to the list, for record's sake. I'll come back and update it whenever I acquire anything new, which will probably be very rare.

Hardware:
Casio WK-110 Keyboard
Greg Bennett Torino electric guitar
Squire Strat electric guitar
Ibanez electric acoustic
4 hole potato Ocarina... of Time...
KORG microKORG XL w/ Vocoder Synthesizer
Several poor quality microphones, best is Logitech

Software:
FL Studio 10 Producer Ed.
Reaper
A few random programs I use for editing or converting which escape me right now, and I'm too lazy to look up

VSTs:
Tons of free ones, ranging from producing middle eastern style percussion to 8-bit to wubbing, etc.

I also probably have every pony remix ever made ever downloaded. It's about all I listen to in the car anymore, aside from the occasional classical music station.
