Post A Picture Of How You Arrange Your Songs

From scales and semitones to pentatonics and cadence patterns. It's all about the science behind the expression, here.

I feel almost ashamed that I haven't produce anything needing more than ten tracks before.
I'm not, but damn if you aren't trying me.

I think FL Studios does that for all "mult-monitor-displays".If you use the detached option for your windows you can drag them to the other screen and still use them (without having the empty toolbar at the top of the screen).

I sometimes envy those of you with huge monitors or dual setup. That's my next purchase for sure, however for now I have to stick to my tiny 17 inch flatscreen.

One of my current WIPs looks like this on a FULL ZOOM-OUT:

Organized Chaos. That's how I work and that's what suits me. It may look like a total mess, but trust me - it's only looking like that.

EDIT: Yeah, I used Nexus. KILL ME FOR THAT! -_-

I was never good at organizing for stuff like school (I still am not), so I guess I compensate with this.

My patch folder for Massive is still a mess, though.

It needs 20% more rainbow colors..

But in all seriousness this is what most of my songs end up looking like:
(the picture is very large, I know, but go big or go home right?)

The only thing missing in the pic is a plethora of automation.

Okay, here's a part of one of my newer projects. I think I'm gonna stick with this arranging style for a while (using blocks, that is). Could be more organised, but it works for me :)

Something like this:

I gave up naming patterns.
Sometimes I'll do some special colourful channel stuff, but that only really happens late into the production.

normally it doesn't get that big, but I wanted a lot of sounds in this Earthbound Song

and sorry for the poor picture quality, I wanted to keep the file size small.

This probably isn't useful since most people here use FL and only I know what these tracks are. But basically the big group is the melody and bassline, Channel 42 is the drum rack, and everything else is background sounds, transition effects, and drums.
I always enjoy doing something until I have to.
Good thing I'm supposed to be doing stuff other than music.

Just recently got a second monitor, it makes my life so much easier! Well this is the template I now use to start my songs.

Image

I use the left side for misc stuff like piano rolls and opening plugin windows. I use the second for monitoring, mixing, and for the playlist. I usually have a wallpaper that suites the song I'm working on.

My default master bus. I leave Ozone off until I'm ready to master.

The project name is hidden for spoiler reasons. Also, it isn't mixed or mastered yet.
Oh yeah, and you probably noticed my lack of automation. I need to work on that in my next track.
