What's your favorite font?

Sports, politics, movies, videogames, questionable hobbies, photos from your family vacation, etc. Talk about stuff that isn't ponies or music. But do try to stay on topic and respectful of alternate opinions.

What's your favorite font?

I'm partial to Ostrich Sans (as you can probably tell by my website)

Saw this, and flipped through every font I have out of curiosity. These were my three favorite "simpler" fonts, though I wouldn't use Orator or Trajan for writing because they're all caps (I forget the specific word for this).

Also Orator looked slightly better when I used "CaptainFluffatun" as my guinea pig phrase.

Also, as for headers and stuff on websites, I usally go find a custom font from dafont.com, though I will say you've inspired me to maybe try a simpler approach.

Well My favorite is Futura and also Garamond because they work really well together and I wrote my with mostly those fonts but also a little bit of Market Deco which looks a lot like Futura but at the same time it is more old looking because it is caps lock

I also like the Exo font A LOT

And with some custom work it turns into a great, clean futuristic font

Of course these aren't the best for normal writing, but they make cool headlines/titles etc!

Ahhh yes I've finally found my thread!

My top two fonts are:
Image
For futuristic work, because by changing the kerning and tweaking the letters slightly you can get really clean one-line words.

Image
For when I want clean lines, I use Yu Gothic, as it is insanely high resolution, but also doesn't break 3D models when you try to edit them like other hi-res fonts do.

However, I have a TON of fonts I use on a regular basis. The most important thing in my opinion is tweaking the font to fit the situation. I almost never leave a font on its default kerning. A wide kerning can change the entire feel of a font so quickly that you wouldn't believe it.

Some fonts have hard edges that when you zoom in closely make the once smooth looking lines seem harsh. Some fonts are based on vectors, and can be zoomed in near infinity without losing their smoothness.

xD I thought you meant the font of my logo typography :P

It's called Feedback Loud.

I don't really have a favorite font, but I've always liked Angie Impressing, even though it isn't all that cool meh.

I like one called "badaboom". It's very comic book-y. I used it in a logo for myself once but people said they didn't like it so I changed my avatar. It happens.
