What's your favorite product (music) of the fandom so far?

Postby Whitetail » 30 Jun 2011 23:15

Figured this'd be an interesting thread, I'm curious what you guys think is the best music to come out of the fandom so far.

For my opinion, I'd have to say either:

Dj Amaya's remix of winter wrap-up, I'm not a big fan of house but this song is just so freaking catchy, I mean the original was hard to get out of your head but this one has the staying power of super glue.

(figures they're both winter wrap up remixes)

PPS's remix of Winter Wrap-up, which is less a remix and more a re-imagining. I just love the creative use of samples from the original to turn it into an entirely new piece.

I agree with PPS's remix, it's a really cool take on the song, and completely changes your perspective toward it.

This song is legendary in my eyes, it's impossible to get out of my head:

And General Mumble has been producing work that Renard should have made but never did.

And I always thought this song was a lot of fun as well

My #1 favorite pony remixer is Kil6969. Hands down.

My favourites from the fandom so far... hmm.

I remember when I heard this, I came over all goosebumpy:

And then there's Golden Cupcakes, but that's already been linked in here, so I won't link it again.

Then, there's this beauty. I was amazed at the vocal harmonies and pitch tweaking that worked far too well. According to the author, it was inspired by one of my songs (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uu5XzPuJ80I), and in turn, inspired the mix that I submitted for the Remix War: Round II.

I really liked this one... each time I hear it I get inspired. I admire it's abstractness.

Probably the Alex S remix of Luna. I'm ashamed I haven't put it on my iPod yet.

Oh, and Cat Milly's Art Of The Dress remix too. I don't even like hip-hop that much, but there's just something about this I really like...

And I can't believe I almost forgot. :D

I know that some of the stuff I heard last night from the remix war reveal party Synchtube thing are going to be up in my favourites for sure.

Most of my favourites have already been posted, namely Kil's stuff and Winter Wrap Up (Late Again). I'm a person for really quite upbeat melodic stuff, which not many popular remixes do. I'M HERE TO CHANGE THAT.

Regardless, I love this one to pieces.

Makkon really did a great job. No, everypony did a great job.

Favorite piece is PROBABLY PinkiePieSwear's "Winter Wrap Up (Late Again)".
Just...greatness. An entirely different dimension of greatness.

But then there's what I'd call the Best product of the fandom...and that's this song:

Yes, that one.

Not because it's the best song produced in this fandom, but because it was a single song that took my music and shifted it in a new direction. It got me trying new techniques, etc.

this one's also special to me in that it got me started on the remix train:

thanks, Chain, for not finishing that track proper. Saved all the fun for me. ;p

So after listening to all our entries while I was at work for nearly a week, I got a ton of favorites.

Trixie's Good Side is one of my favorites.

Love the vocal sampling. Goes between Trixie being boastful and admitting she cannot live up to expectations. A Waltz for Trixie and A Typical Magic Show are also good ones.

Sounds incredible, especially the ending lines.

This one is pretty catchy too.

That is what got me into the show. It showed up in my subscription box one day, I said, "what's this?", started laughing, listened to it, and ran to episode 1.

Even if it's not the greatest song in the fandom, it is the best one based solely on the fact that it converted about 20,000 subscribers into bronies. (not excluding the already-bronies).

makkon's highlanders song and trixie waltz are my favorite above all... the instruments, the pacing, so diffrent alot of the remixes... thats why I don't understand why people like renard's rainbowdash likes girls song, because to me is one big earrape. maybe its my headphones :x

As much of a stigma as eurobeat has for me I've got to admit the pony eurobeats have a great visceral appeal to them and are probably the most popular overall of all the fan music out there. I also have enormous respect for any of the composers who go above and beyond what the show offered and make their own original themes. I don't remember what it was called but I saw an excellent orchestral theme about Trixie on tindeck.

I agree with pretty much everything that has been posted so far. There are a lot of talented musicians that are highly involved in this fandom, which I love! Who ever posted the [voodoopony] + Jackle App, that is my favorite song right now, especially the begging.

My favourite product of the fandom so far? The choice is very hard, since almost every brony artist has fantastic musics... But there are two musics I have discovered on Celestia Radio I really love:

Gentlecolts? It seems I am not the only brony here.
