Sports, politics, movies, videogames, questionable hobbies, photos from your family vacation, etc. Talk about stuff that isn't ponies or music. But do try to stay on topic and respectful of alternate opinions.

Geez I haven't posted in a forum since Gaiaonline, Lets see if I remember how to do this...(I should of joined this a few months ago)^^"

Hey there I'm Chris, also know as AbsoluteSandwich(the story behind the name isn't that interesting lol)
Call me Chris, AB, Absolute, Sandwich, any combination of the four or whatever ya feel.
Age: 23 years and a couple minutes

Story Time:
A thing to know about me is I have little to no music experience/composition before I joined the fandom, no fancy music education, no nothing. I was inspired to make music from a song within the fandom, the urge to make the musics was always there, but until I was inspired I never gave it a second thought. I sat myself down, and force fed myself tutorials, and tutorials, and tutorials(And It's not easy for me to teach myself, so i had to rewatch a few @_@). I started picking up, turning noise into music. I still have a long way to go, but I'm feeling pretty confident in my potential. I have made a few songs, and have half a dozen unfinished projects. I'm hope this forum can help break my procrastination, and maybe join a few Event, and meet a few dead lines to challenge myself.
TL:DR : I had no music smarts, I forced myself music smarts, Lazy, Trying to be unlazy.

Myself: Music aside, I'm a real easygoing guy, pretty quiet, generous(but Rarity isn't in my top 5 lol go figure), social anxiety/stage fright @_@ hope I can get over these, and I love to make people smile!~

Goal: I just wanna make people smile, aiming at the medical field.

Interests: Video games(project distraction!), Music(not a fan of country, but my interest are pretty wide), Ponies(Pinkie Pie is my fav followed by Vinyl Scratch, then Discord((yup)) ), Hanging with friends, and making new friend :D

Might I ask what you see as EDM then?
Whenever I see people treating EDM as a genre I get itchy, you see :P because it's an umbrella term for multiple genres.

Well hello, Absolute Chris Sandwich, AB! You seem a swell individual, I honestly hope you find it worth your while to stay! You may not be the hero MLR needs, but by god, you're the one it deserves, right now.
Notebook Memories, the debut album from yours truly, is currently up on my bandcamp for free. Any feedback, encouragement, hate mail, etc. is highly appreciated! Even just listening is pretty cool of you tbh.

Salutations! My name is Toothpaste! And I hate ponies! Yay!~ *bricked*

When did you become a brony?
Sometime around September/October 2013

What do you do in the fandom?
I've been making instrumental music on my Gen 1 iPad for over a year now, I started posting pony music at the very end of December 2013. I mainly make electronic music, but I might stray off and produce something that I don't even know how to classify. XD
I'm also seriously thinking of adding vocals to my music in the future. I might even attempt rapping >.>

What do you do IRL?
Eat, sleep, breathe... the basics.

Seriously. -.-'
I'm currently a lifeguard at a small town pool.

Are you really answering these stupid questions I'm giving to myself?
Eeyup.

What is your favorite part of the fandom?
Aside from the actual people; da musics :3

Wait... Are you a boy or a girl?
I'm a real boy!

How old are you, like, really? -.-'
I'm seventeen~ :3

Who is best pony?
Minuette! (Colgate is not her name!!! *rage quits*)

Are these questions disorganized and random?
Just like my bedroom~ *bricked again*

How do you feel about wasting lots of space in this page of this tread?
Fine as long as I get to shamelessly plug my YouTube channel >:3

No.

Hi, I'm Scooblee, and I...

I really don't know what to put there, but just having "Hi, I'm Scooblee" feels like a cold welcome.

Anyways, I've been making music since 2013, around the same time I started getting into ponies (though that was more mid-to-late 2012, I'm pretty sure. Season 3 had either just started or was about to start, I think, so just whenever that was.) I make chiptunes, ranging from stuff on the NES/Famicom (what I mostly do) to other consoles and computers, like the ZX Spectrum (mostly the beeper, I've only done one song on the AY chip) and the Genesis/Mega Drive.

I can't list too many influences within the fandom because most of my influence comes from the chip scene, like Tim Follin, Alberto Gonzalez, Jeroen Tel, etc. That doesn't mean that I don't have any, but I just can't really think of any at the moment...

I do happen to play a real instrument: the euphonium. Basically looks like a small tuba, but sounds like a trombone without the blast. Other than that, nothing else, but I'd like to pick up guitar or maybe piano. I'd also like to do vocals, but I don't have a good enough mic for that kind of stuff, and I don't think my room is good enough to record in. I could be wrong, though, Iunno.

(Eh, what else to put here... Oh!)

Almost forgot, but links to my everything will be in my signature. Hopefully, by the time you've read this, it'll be up, and if not, I'm probably just taking a little longer than I should be on it. Sorry!

Hello, my name is [REDACTED] and I collect and produce music!

I'm 14 and I have no professional experience in the topic besides reading a very large DJing book two times over (It was a good frekkin book), so I'm pretty much self-taught.

I've been officially releasing music for a bit longer than 2 years now, and I have heavy interests in mixing.

The music I like is weird, experimental, and underground. So genres like IDM, Breakcore, Drill and Bass, Harsh Wall Noise, Free Jazz, Lowercase, Extratone, Etc. are some of my favorite styles of music. I also like Electronic Indie, Ambient, Traditional Dubstep (None of that Americanized "Brostep" stuff from 2010 - 2014), 2-step, Garage, Gabber, Speecore, Nu Disco, Chillwave, etc.

I don't like, however, really overused/overheard genres like Big Room House, Brostep, Trap (I used to love trap, but not so much anymore), etc. These genres have been beaten to death, not even mentioning at how they usually try to copy the biggest guys in the genre rather than present anything new to the genre. (This is my opinion please don't try to send me anthrax in my mail, thank you.)

I'm pretty shy too, if that's worth noting.

Besides music, I don't really do anything. I'm actually a pretty boring person in real life. "Calm and collected, as he calls it."

Ah ok now lessee I see a lot of names

Welcome Sandwich!

Welcome Toothpaste! you are totally right about Minuette and Stuntdude I cringe whenever I hear some one calling Ditzy Derpy.

Welcome Scooblee! Your chiptunes are pretty awesome. I've just started getting into making game styled though not really chiptune-type music, I can see how it's a lot of fun to do. Guitar or Piano are pretty good instruments, either one is worth learning. Vocals are something thats just worth giving a shot. Nevermind about your room conditions or mics or anything, just give it a go and see what you get.

Welcome Ischi! Fine, i'll just keep my Anthrax to myself then. Looking at your interests, I think you might get along quite well with ExoBassTix haha.

Welcome all to the site! Hope to see y'all round :3

This mainly.

Well you came to the right place. If you ever want to discuss or discover new music in said genres, or want something in particular (also in all other Electronic genres by the way), knock my door and I'll help you out.

You know it. One of my biggest frustrations. Commercial independent creativity is on its deathbed.

One question though. I'd love to know how you got your name and what it means (to you).

I know one thing for sure, I was a brony when SlyphStorm's song Pegasus Device was released, and that was in October. And by that time I know I had watched all the MLP episodes, and I only watched a few a day.
You my friend are the one getting mixed up :P

And yes, you were the one who got me into the fandom, but unless of course you were lying, you said that you started watching MLP the just a week before I did. And that was only because you were gone that week to work :/

So I was wrong about the September thing, but I know for sure I became a brony in October. :3

Pegasus Device was released on October 31st 2013, but you actually never found it until November when the Top 10 was released, which would have been at least 9-10 days into the month (I shall explain why this is further below ;P). Adding up the days, October 16th 2013, the night I started my marathon, was a Wednesday. Therefore I would not get back home to show the show to you until the 21st of October which was a Monday.

At the time, I did not consider myself a brony yet, based on a DeviantART journal I posted ON the 21st of October, I stated I was 60 episodes in by that point, and that I did not yet consider myself a brony despite being a fan of the show. This would have been the same day I told you about the show, therefore you could not have been a brony by then.

It is also well known that the moment I decided I was a brony, was when I created the name "FritzyBeat" and started my Youtube Channel which according to Youtube Statistics By Socialblade, was October 31st 2013, the same day Pegasus Device was uploaded. However, this was on the second Thursday after I got back from work when I discovered the show, meaning I wouldn't have gotten back home to tell you about my bronydom or show you the song (If I had heard it before the countdown) until 4 days later, or November 4th.

If that wasn't enough to convince you, may I remind you that we watched every episode of MLP together, you watching it for the first time, and me watching it for the second time up to ep 60, which took us significantly longer to get through because I was at work every other week, and you were attending school. may I also remind you that when I finally DID get the chance to tell you I was a brony, November 4th, It was only a couple days later (if that) that you also decided you were a brony, as when we both got into the show together the first week I got home, we both decided we wouldn't be bronies until we new exactly what we were diving into.

SO, MY DEAR BROTHER. No you did not become a brony until November ;P Thank you, and goodnight XP *shot*

ASIDE FROM THAT!

Welcome to the forum all you newbies ^_^ Ignore me and my brother's bantering, I'm just making sure he still knows who the alpha dog is ;P *shot*

Be sure to leave your sanity at the door, and Pineapple hats will be made available to you on the right as you make your way in. Please enjoy your stay, and please don't try to escape. You'd never make it over the moat anyway ;)
