It depends. There is a mixed number of good samples. Some of those are free. Try Google if you want specific results

Hey there Wipergone! I'm Exo, the local lunatic that does all the weird things to balance out the normal things. If you ever want help with finding your unique flair to music, or want to have a tour through experimentalism, I'm your guy! (Also, any questions about Balloon Party, ask me them.)

To answer your question, we got awesome threads about free VSTi's and free sample packs and more of the likes if you look through our Resources, Software, and Mixing Advice subforum. Besides that, you'd be surprised to find out how resourceful Google can be if you just want some VST's, VSTi's, or sample packs, whether free or not.
Hope to have helped you out there ^_^

Oh, you're into the chip scene as well? Thought it might have been just me around here, heh. I haven't been hanging around BotB that much as of recent, but I don't recall seeing you there. Eh, I may have just missed you.

Anyways, hope your stay at the forums is a pleasant one, Rhythm!

Eyy! I've been posting here for a bit now but might as well introduce myself anyways! I'm *OuTbREaK*, though you can call me Outty. I also have a side project under the name Remix Trigger.

-14 years old
-makes electro, house, chill, trap, and ambient
-plays a stupidly large amount of StepMania
-spends even more time in the plug.dj FiM room
-occasionally streams on Twitch
-gets excited whenever he interacts with musicians he likes

Hello Modern Bard!
Welcome to MLR!!! Let's hope we aren't to old fashion for you... (Did that pun even make any sense?)
Anyway. Looks like you have a bunch of experience, and education in music. What type of music do you make? You should put some links in your signature so we can listen :)

Hey ^^

So i make some electronic music (or vintage 70's/80's electronic music), but it's very cheap beacause i dindn't use any VST's (only synthesizers included in FL)

I put some links of my recent music in The "feedback" section ;)

Hello everyone! How're you? :)

I'm Jyc Row, a 21 years old belgian brony musician, but I also do voice acting and some singing (I'm not a professional but I do my best). I'm also a Dark-Fantasy writer but I only write in french.

Anyway, it's been almost a year since I'm a brony and I decided to make some music for the community AND with the community so I'm open to do some collab with singer, rapper, ...

I use FL Studio 11 and Audacity, I usually make electronic music (even "electrorchestral" if I do say so myself). There's some links in my signature with some musics of mine. A collaboration (which has been premiered at BabsCon this year) with an amazing rapper is coming as soon as we get the artwork for it.

If you have question, be free to ask me whatever you want! :)
I'll just leave some link here, to mah (not so good) music:

Right. I'm SonniPony/Medley/idk. I haven't really settled on a pony artist alias, if I'm gonna change at all. I used to be Medley the Musician, I upload to toastbeard as OT3/SonniPony. My bigger thing is creating content for youtube. (www.youtube.com/user/BringDaGamingLulz). I love rock and roll, synth pop, some pop, techno, and parody/satire/ironic rap/trap/etc. I play piano, guitar, synthesizer and a few other things. I primarily work in Pro tools, LSDJ, and Famitracker. I love video games. Msg me if there's anything else you wanna know.

Actually I have looked into mGB, I wanted to build an arduinoboy to connect an actual midi controller/keyboard to it (since I'm more comfortable with playing live than using trackers). Not sure if I'm gonna actually go through with it, given how much money I've put into the gameboy. I've still got two shells left over. Plan is to put a raspberry pi in one of them next semester, not quite sure what me and my roommate (used to be a fairly popular chiptuner) will do with the last one, maybe build a mixer or analog synth out of it?

Hello My name is DJ FlareDash

I've been a brony for a wile being since around 2012. I've been making music since 2009. The music I make is Dubstep, techno, chillstep, (mellow dubstep) and remixs. On top of I'm also skilled in 3D animation making my own album art desktop backgrounds, made spinning Rhythm's background for his twitter and youtube account.

Hello, Qub3d here. Most just call me Q.

I've done live vocals for a bit, finally got myself some digital equipment and I'm journeying into the wonderful web of recorded music. On a side note - did you know the Indians in Blazing Saddles speak German? I was really confused when I understood about half of what they were saying...
