Thanks. I've messed around with a few things like Korg-DS10 and stuff, it's never really went anywhere though, I'm not sure I have the sort of creative mind to make cool stuff with music. But yeah, I'll still pick it up from time to time though and see where it goes.

hi!

I found mylittleremix through irc.ponychat.net, which led me to lurk the board for about half an hour before signing up. I make Drum & Bass and jazzy IDM, but mainly it's all fairly experimental. Not so much into remixing though, but I have been trying to get into it lately. My soundcloud is in my profile if you want to listen to what I have. I won't bother linking myself beyond that yet!

Also I've been a fan of MLP:fim from back when I first saw it on tv. I can't remember when or what episode but it was pretty early on.

uhh... hi. I didn't really know where to go to introduce myself on here or talk so, umm, yeah. I'm Scootabag, and I just recently (like a week and a half ago) started to record the stuff that I've been writing for a while, I'm still fairly new and sucky to it, though. But yeah, I've got my midi keyboard and I'm ready to roll out!

Hello! Third post in the board so I guess this'll work for an introduction!
Call me Ash! Or Ashen, whichever one, I'm not picky.
I seem to fit RD's mindset pretty closely I think.
As far as music or arts or degrees, I'm not the one to have them.
I'd like to though! I wanna draw and do music and get degrees in them, but I gotta learn first!
So if you could help any that'd be awesome. <3
I DO have Reason 5, however I DO NOT have a MIDI keyboard :C

Another Fun Fact: I've been learning how to piano for a month, yet I played piano for three of them

And I guess it's just a personal thing about midi keyboard: If someone has melodies in his head, It won't be a problem to write them, unlike me, having to improvise for most of my songs

Hi, howlgram.

Piano lessons are a lot of help (even though I'm 14) but are not everything, I started making music two months before starting my lessons, so don't think lack of piano skil is a drawback big enough to hold you down.

If you have any problems with using your software, hit me up, I also ableton

'nother Ableton jumping in. Though I can't make anything more than glitching waveforms and creating drum loops yet. It would've been easier if I only understood how to work with placing your loops in order to make them play a whole song, instead of trying to record it loop for loop. D:

Oh well, artistic vision is breakcore, speedcore, DnB and trying to cash in on the oscillating bass thing that all youngsters are going mad for. Also: I love bongos. :3

Greetings Bronies!

Before I move forward with my introduction, let me preface it by saying that all of you inspire me. It is such a wonderful breath of fresh air to see a community where kindhearted, talented people gather, all for the stimulating purpose of inciting artistic challenges for one another ... also there are ponies here.

*dusts off*

Alright, before I make a complete mess of myself...

My name is Matt (known on youtube as KDMatt), as for d.notive? that's my band name/professional alias. Don't go googling it just yet though, it's still very fresh. I'm 24 years old, a native resident of Minneapolis, and hold a B.A. in Film Studies.

I've been sequencing since I was about 15, and writing songs since I was probably about 5 or 6. I'm a fourth generation musician, and have had almost no formal training.

Also, I've read this entire thread, and it looks like it's safe for me to say ... I'm the only person using Sonar as a sequencer/DAW? Interesting. I might also surprise a few others by saying that I really don't care much for VST's, in fact, if I had my choice, I'd have a room full of keyboards, and use zero VST's ...

Influences? I could write a novel about all of the music that's inspired me, but Depeche Mode has, by far, been the biggest influence. I've flown cross country to see them play, and I would do it again in a heartbeat. I'm also remiss for not mentioning, Kraftwerk, Tangerine Dream, The Pet Shop Boys, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Deep Purple, Justice, Daft Punk, Fred Falke ... this list goes on forever.

Style? These days I'm getting funky, and I don't mean like Rick James funky, I mean, solid, smooth, electro funky. I've been addicted to guys like Chromeo, Lorenz Rhode, Dogg Master, The System, and pretty much anything that made its way to Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis.
However, when I'm not feeling funky, I'm all about DarkWave and Industrial, with a bit of EBM or Trance mixed in there. </closetgoth>

I've also never done a pony remix before, but I'm certainly intrigued by the idea! Competitions give me deadlines, and deadlines give me a reason to finish things, and the more things I finish, the better I get. I assume that's the goal of everypony here. :) I'm also, as I mentioned, so completely blown away by the community of musicians that has sprung up around a show I love, it would be silly of me not to be here.

Favorite Pony? Rarity. Without a doubt. (Well, also Doctor Whoof, I'm a huge fan of anyone who sports a sonic screwdriver).

TL;DR - Don't mind me if I skulk around the forums for a while, getting a feel for things.

I did actually see that after the fact. *brohoof*

'still though ... is this just a two horse race?

Also, how is 8? I haven't moved past 6.

There is maybe one other Sonar user on the site, but I can't remember who.

I love 8+8.5, they're both awesome and quite intuitive for me. I grew up writing music on Cakewalk Home Studio 1992 edition, and S8 sort of reminds me of that... except good.

I also have X1, but it scares me...
