Making changes to-do list!

Short term:

Make the forum less of a maze
-merge all music sections into one section, and encourage the use of <tags>
-Leave the discography section alone
-Posted general rules list!
-"Getting Started on MLR" thread, global. Talks about the mission, MLR staff, and MLR skypchats
-Specific rules for each section that needs it (already done?)

Long term:

Redesign this ugly site
-New colorscheme, SPITFIRE?!? With dark grey?!?

-Trophy system!
-Tutor of the Week/Month/ we'll figure that out
-Size limits on signatures (that's harder than it looks!)
-Complete overhaul of forum functionality
-Install handy mods, like the skype mod

- I don't know if it's possible, but ideally www.mylittleremix.com would lead to a "ABOUT US PAGE", which could contain all the 'who's here, how to get started, global rules' stuff, and a button that links to www.mylittleremix.com/MAINPAGE, which is essentially what we have now. Is this feasible?
- In terms of the long term stuff, i'll get cracking on the Tutor Of The Month logistics. Will pitch some stuff to you in skype later in the week.
- Spitfire is best colour scheme.

Not a mod, but . . .

-Maybe create a section with links to good free resources, like plugins and whatnot, but then again, that might just be a dumbed-down version of the technique section
-Trophy system sounds great. It would keep people coming back
-Maybe make profiles more complex, perhaps with the ability to post bulletins that are visible by their friends on the side of the screen (which they can then close, kind of like facebook updates in the bottom left). In the case of someone having over nine thousand friends, you could make this an optional feature. Even without the bulletin thing, maybe make them a better resource for other musicians on the site. Perhaps (thinking as I type) you could instead of having a discography section, allow users to put all their music on their profile. I dunno.
-A fairly small section about art. Art is the other side of music, because the right picture can amplify the power of the piece.
-More contests

Both of these things already exist. There is a thread Bartekko started in one of the subforums in the (currently not available) technique forum about plugins and VSTs and what not, both free and proprietary.

And the very last subforum on the main page is for all kinds of art that aren't music. It's called Doodles and Scribbles, although I don't know how much it's used since I usually just lurk the technique forum.

Alright, I think there should be a tutorial forum/subforum, because I have a few tutorials I'd like to write to help the people that are new to production out, and it can REALLY help them. We have people of different genres in this community, and even if you don't make the specified genre, it can really help people out.
Also, I do like this color scheme, but changes are all right!

You guys really need to change the color-scheme of this site. The official hasbro colors, and market branding is designed for small girls. While ponies are cool and all, I'm guessing 98% of the users on here are male. Plus I'm sure most people would feel more at home going to a site that looks less attention-grabbing to the uninitiated general public. Right now it just screams "wtf site is that?".

absolutely this would be great.

if a less pink or an optional board image is possible it would be nice to have a way to change it or not include (like we can omit avatars if we choose). I do a lot of surfing this site at work and yes i have to constantly be aware of people looking over my shoulder (MLP hasn't even been mentioned over there so i don't want to spend weeks having to explain it to my co-workers and take joshing).
